Bit of a panic and then an outing!

Yesterday evening ai was getting myself worked up as I was experiencing a different pain in my knee and started to convince myself something was wrong! Then I had a really bad night, up at one for the loo and didn’t really settle, then at four I couldn’t shake off the pain so took myself downstairs to the recliner chair. I got a bit of sleep and decided that the pain was just the wound trying to heal under the sticky dressing and to go with it. I knew that the doctor said the new pain killers would be at the chemists today. I had a shower and managed to get the fresh compression socks on myself. Took a picture of the bruising on the inside of my leg, goodness knows what they were doing with it during surgery!
Another present through the post today, this time flowers from my friend Angie.
Tina was off today and we had a two hour window between deliveries. We were going to feed the ducks at a pond near Burton Agnes and Tina checked and Burton Agnes gardens were open and they were serving take away food.

We parked in the disabled parking and there was a reasonable walk to the food area and where they were selling plants. Tina ordered toasted filled pita breads and a drink, I made my way across to the picnic tables. I was sitting on one of them when I took this photo, as you can see, a reasonable distance for someone who had her knee replaced less than a week ago!
A few more shots from where we were sitting.

There was a lovely holly bush/tree next to where we sat. Quite stunning.
This afternoon I didn’t do a lot, put my feet up and used the ice pack. I had an email from an American fabric company with fantastic Black
Friday deals. The postage was very reasonable so Tina and I picked some bargains and I got them ordered with minutes to spare!
I will sleep on the recliner tonight, well, hopefully I will actually sleep tonight!

  1. Sorry to hear you had such a bad night, but looking at that leg it’s hardly surprising. It looks horrendous. Maybe they were taking turns to jump on it while you were in theatre 😊
You’ll be overrun with flowers in that house soon. It must smell wonderful in there though. Well I suppose as you can’t get into the garden it’s a bit like bringing the garden into you!
Really pleased you got out for a while today. It’ll stop you going stir crazy and I know you’ll have been careful. Plus you had the Rev keeping her beady eye on you too. It seems a bit chilly in the pics. Hot drink and hot food a must, specially for an invalid! The ducks look happy to see visitors anyway. Bet they’re not getting half as much food as they used to. From the pics it looks like you did a fair bit of walking, all things considered. Isn’t modern medicine wonderful. Years ago you’d have been in hospital weeks recovering.
The holly looks nice, which reminds me, it’s nearly Christmas. Humbug!
The fabric sounds interesting. Is it for something you have in mind or just a bargain that will get used in time?
Make sure you wrap up warm if you’re sleeping downstairs tonight. Hope the change will help with the sleep.

  2. It was nice to get out for a bit and to try walking outside,It did aggravate my leg a bit but managed a fair few steps in the end.probably won’t get out for a bit now.
I am beginning to feel very tired now, not surprising really.
The set up at Burton Agnes was really good, although it was a bit of a walk to the picnic tables.all credit to the for finding a way to welcome people and generate a bit of income. We bought an ornamental grass and some iris bulbs, good prices, quite a few visitors were looking at the plants on offer.
I would like to make another quilt, a simple one, maybe just squares, hopefully the material won’t be another thing on the top do’ list for years!
