While he was working Tina and I were out clearing leaves, we filled another three large bags. Then we had a cup of tea sitting in the summer house which was nice.
After lunch, where we watched the end part of a couple of Bargain Hunts, we both settled in the dining room to do some colouring. Tina has an enormous pack of posh felt pens and I used my American crayons. Paul was working on the stair rails for the afternoon and did a really great job.
Paul stained the rails, there is another shorter one on the upper flight.
Then Tina did one of the puzzles from my crossword book with me before tea.
When I went out to put the fox food out I took a picture of the growing number of leaf sacks and a couple of the church.
So a really pleasant day and a relaxing one for Tina.
Need to do some pedalling this evening!
A really nice day then, for both of you. It’s nice for you to get a hand in the garden and it’s good for the Rev to relax a bit for a change. I’m impressed with the colouring, both of them. Quite an artistic household.
ReplyDeleteThe rail looks good. You’ll be able to drag your weary old bones up the stairs a bit easier now 😊 Safer too.
You do have a lot of leaves stored up there! Wonder how many bags it’ll be when you’re finished?
I think my favourite of the church pics is the first one. Very nice.
Don’t go mad at the pedalling!
Really was an enjoyable day, sometimes the simple pleasures is all that it takes.
ReplyDeleteTina has a really lovely colouring book with lots of detailed designs mostly of birds, but a few other creatures too. I got the initial letters book in the works, a few in it I don’t like but mostly they are good designs.
He has done a great job of the gate and the rails, lovely pleasant guy who left no mess and a reasonable cost.
