Tina and I had a quick lunch and then went to Tesco to do a big shop, we more or less know what we are eating at the weekend now!
Bernard had dropped off another shaped paving slab for us yesterday so I went out this afternoon to relay them with the extra one. I had to lift them all and clear underneath and they are so heavy or I am becoming a real weakling!
I cleared the weed away they had been sitting on and tried to level it so they were sitting better than before. It does look better with the extra paver.
I had a drink in the summer house and then came indoors as I wanted to do the white edging round the letters on the sign in daylight, I have a pretty steady hand but this part of the sign was quite stressful!
I checked the greenhouse this evening and topped up the bird bath which is getting used regularly now. I had one sunflower that had grown well then let it dry out and it has appeared dead for days, but today it is picking up a bit and it had a visitor!
Going out for a meal with the HUG team this evening, The Bay will have to wait!
A busy day for you again, and varied too. You really shouldn’t be lifting those slabs. They’re very heavy and you’ll definitely do yourself a mischief one of these times. Drag Darren out into the garden when you need stuff lifted. That’s what sons are for 😊 The extra slab does make a big difference. They look so much better being that little bit closer together.
ReplyDeleteThe sign is looking really good. The white outline really makes the lettering stand out. I can imagine how fiddly it must have been to do! You have the patience of a saint, which is appropriate for living in a vicarage I suppose!
Enjoy your evening out. At least you’ll be sitting down and relaxing while you eat 😊
Yes, that extra paver does make a difference,
ReplyDeletePainting flowers on the sign should be a bit less stressful!
It was a nice meal but spoilt by a very rude owner!
Definitely somewhere not to go back to then. I’m sure word will spread and hopefully they’ll lose a bit of business!
