Getting stuck in!

This morning Tina had a meeting in the home use and it was attended by a lady with a guide dog. Charlie sleeps in the dining room where the meeting was taking place and as he looked about ready to attack I picked him up to remove him and got scratched in the process! He doesn’t like being picked up at the best of times, and this certainly wasn’t the best of times! He stood in the hallway, back arched and not happy and then disappeared. Going upstairs later I saw he had curled up on two chairs that are easy to go to the boot sale, bless, he really didn’t look that comfortable.
Most of the day since the visitors I have been in the garden apart from refreshment breaks. I managed to get the long extension lead out without a problem today and started using the strimmer, didn’t get on that well with it and ended up clearing weeds and unwanted plants with the Dutch hoe. This is the area I had decided needed seeing to as it looked a mess behind the colourful flower bed.
It went fairly well until I reached the pile of roots on the right, then I hit more roots. Hadn’t intended digging today but when I walk into the stumps it really hurts my joints apart from them being a tripping hazard! This was the biggest root I have managed to get out on my own, so much for not digging!
I decided I had done enough, would have liked to have gone round the corner, but maybe next time!
I have had a nice soak in the bath tonight and Darren kindly went to get me a take away as I couldn’t muster the energy to cook!

  1. Charlie does look a bit uncomfortable there, but better than sharing space with a dog I suppose.
You’ve done amazingly well with that bit of garden. That’s a fair lump to get sorted out in one go, specially with those roots and stumps to contend with. We don’t want any more tripping over for a while! Not surprised you were too pooped to cook. But that’s what sons are for. To look after and run about after their dear old mum 😊

  2. It certainly is obvious where I have been today, that is always good.
I really enjoyed my special delivery tea.
