Carrying on.....

We have decided that the bed in front of the summer house will be anther flower bed and we would like pampas grass.this morning when I went out to feed the birds I stayed out and went round the edge of the bed to give it some definition and then I could get on with digging it over later.
I had asked Darren if he would take me to a garden centre today so that I could buy a pampas and also maybe see a tomato growing plastic green house! Tina suggested we go to Cherry Lane near Beverley, so that is where we went. We found mini pampases so bought two of them and also, after some searching we found a plastic tomato house and soooo cheap. I will assemble it tomorrow and see how strong it is.
This afternoon I was back in the garden and made pretty good headway with the digging. Can’t believe he w many weeds and bulbs were n it, the pink container is nearly full already!
I made lasagne for tea and made two so that there are four portions to go in the freezer.
I have a commission to paint a house sign for one of the HUG volunteers. He had loved the one I painted for the front garden. I have a spare piece of wood the same as our sign and have sanded it down a bit this evening.
I am hoping to get quite a lot done in the garden tomorrow after Darren and I have had our trip to Skirlington.

  1. You’re a glutton for punishment! You should have kept a record of how many hours you’ve spent gardening since you moved there. I’d hazard a guess at quite a few 😊 Hopefully now you’ve dug that bed you’ll be able to get the tiller on it to make the second dig a bit easier.
The little greenhouse should be good for a couple or three tomato plants. Hope the cats don’t take to scratching at them like they did in Welland!
I look forward to seeing the new sign. I’m sure it’s going to look good.
Enjoy a bit of booting tomorrow. Hope it stays fine.

  2. That is the second or third dig I’ve of that bed, so I will level it and get it planted tomorrow. With a bit of luck will get a lot done tomorrow.
We will enjoy the boot sale before that though.
It will be interesting to see how the little greenhouse looks when I assemble it.
