I will start with a few pics that Tina and Darren took inside Buckingham Palace garden, making us all envious!
It has been an overcast day today, although my enthusiasm for getting the steps in has waned a bit, mainly because at the moment I am having more pain in the legs, probably because more is expected of them, but it is a little off putting. Anyway, I set off for a walk to the sea, it was cold at the front but also quite different today, the tide was in and the wind was making the sea rougher than of late.
I went to the little cafe and had a drink and was pleased that my litter picker had been handed in, I left it against the wall outside at the weekend! I walked home via the pet and plant shop as we need more bells for Blue's collar, a thrush had a very close shave yesterday evening!
I hadn't much enthusiasm to get in the garden either but had a few plants to put is so went out. Took a couple of pictures of the agapanthus to record it's progress!
I didn't take a before picture, but decided to clear the bed near the fence that backs onto Lucian's club next door. You will have to take my word for it that the weeds. plants and brambles were a couple of feet tall and growing wild. The pile of plant matter and the other of brambles shows how much I removed.
A couple of nice bright pictures to finish, one of the poppy in front of the firethorn and the other of one of the antique hanging baskets.
It’s great to have pics from inside the palace gardens. It does look a beautiful place, but then I suppose it should. Those borders look immaculately manicured! Yours will look like that one day :-) I see you’ve been working on them again today, well more an edge than a border I suppose.
ReplyDeleteThat sea does look a bit rough. I bet you wouldn’t have walked on the lower bit the other day if it was like that.
I really like the pic of the hanging basket. Very colourful and the antique basket and weathered wall just finish it off.
You have been doing a lot of gardening and walking lately, so I expect the legs are suffering because of it. You should take it a bit easier!
It was good to see the pictures they took in the grounds, they really did enjoy them. Ours looking like that, I think this year, next year, sometime never!!
ReplyDeleteThe sea was rough, but I do love to see it like that.
The gardening is not going to go away, won't be doing any when I am in America.
