I left home this morning before 8 am to catch the bus to Hull, then caught the trains to Peterborough changing at Doncaster. The first train was running a bit late but no panic at Doncaster as the second train was on the adjacent platform. Got seats fine and even had space to store my bag.
Rachel met me at the station and we came back to her house for a bit and had a chat, then she drove me over to Orton where I had a really nice visit with Margherita, my sister. We talked for an hour or so and then had a game of Scrabble. Margherita has not been too well but was in good spirits today and even walked with me to the bus stop when I was leaving. Rose cycled by as I was waiting for the bus so got to see her briefly as well. I got off a Morrison's and walked down to Rachel's, not done well with the Fitbit targets today, but that isn't important this weekend.
Cookie is a cute dog, it was her birthday yesterday, nine now I believe. I usually get a cuddle and she gets excited with visitors anyway.
A while ago Rachel and Skips garden wall was demolished by a driver who then promptly drove off. Today the was was being rebuilt and a very nice job too.
Rachel is doing much better with the walking so we had a wander round the block this evening before Casualty. Saw this fabulous plant, really want one so will have to see if I can find out what it is called!
This evening we have watched Stand By Me, one of my favourite films so all in all a good day.
Not too bad a journey then from the sounds of it. Only a short hop by your standards.
ReplyDeleteSeems as though Margherita was in good spirits today, which is really good as I know she’s not been very well at all lately. It’s really nice to know she getting a bit more back to her old self again. I know she likes playing scrabble with you too.
Nice that you got time to spend with Rachel and her family as I know you really like seeing them. Should be a good day tomorrow, well today now actually, with Anya, Brian and Hazel. Back to normality on Monday then, and no doubt you’ll be trying to make up for the Fitbit targets you’ve not met! It’s only a guide. Some steps are better than no steps! Take it easy.
A good day and visits, and as you say, some steps are better than none!
DeleteWill see you before I head home tomorrow.
