Charity shop and the sun appeared today!

I went for a walk about 8 o'clock so that I could pop in  here and change my shoes before going to the charity shop. I had been fine with the new till, but Tracey said it had been driving her mad this week and today it was a nightmare, kept jamming up and not registering things so I had to call for assistance a few times. Tracey is there five days a week and couldn't sort some of the issues today easily. She is concerned that they will lose some volunteers because of the stress it causes, must admit that it was not the most enjoyable of mornings!
I had a bit of a rest as my legs were aching but decided to take a walk to the beach this afternoon. Even took some bags and my litter picker. The large poppy in the front garden has just got one bloom opened and it is a really lovely colour.
It was pretty busy at the front, a lovely warm day and the sun actually came out. The steam was rising off the sand but difficult to catch, I did try, good to get a couple of brighter pictures of the sea anyway after a grey week.

I didn't use the litter picker, as I went to the quieter end of the beach and it was clean today. I had a cup of tea on the way back and promptly left the litter picker behind! By the time I realised I was almost home so had no intention of heading back today.
Darren and I had dinner together from a local fast food place just down the road, very nice chicken and chips. There is no way I will have used enough calories today to cover that, the fitbit will not be happy!!
Have just watered the gardens and about to take it easy for the evening.

  1. Sounds like quite a stressful morning at the shop. Electronics either make things a lot easier, or sadly a lot harder. I think the old fashioned tills with the big typewriter type keys were so much better, and you didn’t have to plug them in!
The beach looks nice today and I can see what looks like steam rising in the first one. Not the easiest think to photograph though. Really like the one of the breaker. I love the way the wood is worn away on those uprights. Fancy leaving the litter picker behind. Hopefully it’ll be there waiting next time you go. Some honest person will have handed it in. Bit like the ones at the swimming pool with goggles!
I think you’ve probably done more than enough walking and working this week to warrant a bit of chicken and chips.

  2. Tracey did joke that if I decide not to go back to the shop she will meet me for a cuppa. She is off next week and says the till has driven her to distraction so will be glad to be away from it for a while.
The beach was looking good today, it was a pity about leaving the litter picker behind, I will ask next time I am there.
It seems t have been a busy week and I did enjoy the chicken and chips!
