This morning Rachel took me to the station quite early so that I could have breakfast with Mike before making the journey home..On the station a train stopped opposite that was obviously commemorating the end of the first world war, been a lot of poppy artwork this year.
The journey home went well, although I was having trouble keeping awake on both trains and the bus, but didn't miss any stops!
Had a short walk once I was home and bought something for tea, had a drink with Tina and then watered the gardens.
Darren went off to his meeting in Scarborough and I got a meal for Tina and myself as I had bought some veg and sea bass.
Tina was going out this evening and asked if I wanted a lift to the sea and then walk back. It was a cloudy evening by not cold and I have been a bit down on the steps so did go out again. Ended up having a reasonable walk and went to part of the beach I haven't visited before, with what looked like a massive sea breaker presumably to try and slow down the erosion.
These gulls looked happy enough on another breaker.
Beyond the boulders was a bay, may try walking along there another day when the tide is out.
These steps to get off the beach were not designed with short old ladies with dodgy knees in mind!!
It has been a long day, won't be late to bed tonight!
I recognise that train :-) It was good to see you this morning, and you brought such lovely weather with you too. Glad your journey went ok. So much easier than four trains and a bus!
ReplyDeleteThat’s a big old breaker on the beach. But water is a really powerful thing. Don’t think I’d want to be a seaman. A trip out from the harbour occasionally is plenty for me. Those steps don’t look like they’re designed for taller, very slightly younger men with a dodgy knee either! They should have a funicular.
You should sleep well. All that travelling and lot of fresh sea air. The perfect prescription.
The weather was still nice when I got home but it became overcast before we went down to the sea.
ReplyDeleteThe boulders were massive, pretty dramatic really. Strangely I don't feel that tired at the moment, but hopefully it will creep up on me again soon.
Not seen that train it’s lovely I do miss the seaside when I see your pics
ReplyDeleteIt is a great train. When things quieten down for you there is a bed waiting for you by the seaside!! xx
