Not quite the sunset I hoped for!

Yesterday evening I walked down to the play park that I found where you could see the mere in the distance. The sky was pretty but it was cloudy above the mere so no reflections or even colour. I had been having trouble with my knee yesterday and as I walked across what I thought was longish grass my numb toes hit a concrete block that was hidden and I was on the ground, doing my knees and joints in general a lot of good! Worse was to come as I thought I wouldn't get up as the knee wouldn't let me put any pressure on it to push up at first. I did get up, somewhat inelegantly I imagine and did take some pretty sky pictures. I'll put a few as I suffered in the attempt!

When I got home the sky was more colourful, Tina came out the back with me to make sure I didn't have anymore 'accidents'.

Charity shop this morning, I did have a bit of a walk before I went. The till is still a pain but it wasn't as bad today as it was last week.
This afternoon I did buy some plants and got them into containers. I actually used the couldrons again as having not been able to make drainage holes in them with the house drill, I got my craft drill out and did make some holes with that.
An old set of weighing scales came into the shop this morning which I bought. The dish was missing but I thought they would make an unusual planter. I cleaned them off a bit and had put a rough coat of garden paint on them. Rough is the word, but I am going for the rustic look!!

Garden checked and watered where necessary. My aches and pains aren't too much worse for the tumble last night. Need to pack a bag this evening as off the Peterborough tomorrow.

  1. It’s one of those accidents we’ve all suffered at sometime, but at least you, event, got up in one piece. So much glass laying about in grass these days with all the litter lout about. It could have been a lot worse. Good that the Rev took charge of you in the garden. You shouldn’t be let out alone :-) Shame the sunset wasn’t better after all that effort, but the ones in the garden came out ok. I particularly like the one with the odd white trail coming out the bottom of the cloud.
I really like your “rustic” scales. I’m guessing you’re just going to put a bowl or pot on the end. Just don’t drop any of the weights on your foot when you move it!
Hope your trip goes ok. Looking forward to seeing you.

    1. Well, I think she would have binned the scales as the dish was missing, I got the scales cheap and they got a sale.
I will catch a great sunset here one of these days, time is on my side!
Got to get sorted for my early start!!
