I was up early as Dave said he would come round about 8 am and he was spot on with the time. He made a start straight away, little knowing what a task he had taken on!
Getting myself sorted to go out and do some work in the front garden I spotted a nice bit of skt between the buildings.
I then got stuck into the tidying up of the front lawn and getting the edge ready for re-gravelling at some point. Tina and Darren were busy indoors assembling a wardrobe with the usual less than clear instructions!
Dave smiled as I took this picture, but this was the point when he was regretting saying he would erect it for me. He is putting fiddly, kinked rubber onto narrow edges, the second photo shows some. At one point all four of us were rubbering, Tina had the knack but mostly we struggled!
But eventually getting there.
As you can see at this point Darren was helping out and trying to make sense of the instructions. It would have been a good sunset, I will get to the mere to witness it one day, but could see the pink sky from the garden.
Then, after about 8 hours and the light beginning to fade, a halt was called for today.
Not sure when it will be finished but it is well on the way now, just fixing down and glass to worry about now, not to mention window and gutters!!
A cooking and cleaning day tomorrow I think, Tina will be very busy and it is quite stressful being her first regular services along with the Christmas services.
You really have been busy today. You should take it a bit easier and not take on such arduous jobs! The lawn does look good though, so a task well done. The greenhouse is coming along nicely. Hopefully the fiddliest bit is done with and the rest of it will prove a lot easier. Bet you’ll have lots of seedlings for the garden next year!
ReplyDeleteReally like the pink skies, specially the one through the greenhouse roof. The glass looks so clean :-)
Yes, a busy day and you can see where you have been, which is a bonus. It certainly has to be an easier job finishing it off! I think I will get some good sky pictures when I get to the front or the ere at the right time!
