Quite a busy day again, it seems to be the norm just at the moment. Tina and I went out fairly early and headed for the butchers that was recommended to us. We have placed our Christmas order and got some meat for dinner this evening. Called in at a hairdressers on the way back, we nearly needed smelling salts when we heard the price of a wet cut, but I opted for the apprentice which was reasonable and they could fit me in almost straight away. Came home for a bit and just finished off removing some horrid stickers for tiles in the downstairs loo, Tina had done half before we went out. Then I went to the hairdresser, pleased with the cut but didn't buy a tube of the was she used at the end as it was nearly £26. Got some veg on the way home. I went out and took a picture of the garden ornaments from yesterday as I forgot to put one of the calf which is soooo cute.
Tina had a meeting and just as it was finishing the auction lots were delivered, oh happy day! I had forgotten how much I love my chairs and they are comfortable too. The rocker and stool were also from the auctions.
The what-not is great, haven't cleaned it yet or really decided what will go on there, fits in the corner I left for it a treat.
The little leather chair is in the bedroom for now, it will be good if I do more knitting or embroidery.
The what-not came with a fire screen, which I didn't want in the sitting room but it does screen storage boxes on my trolley, so very useful.
I also got a cast iron imitation Victorian bath planter, but will show that in a bit. Tina had quite a bit of furniture arriving as well, when it was all in we had some lunch then went to the charity shop again. From there we went to the garden centre as I wanted more compost and plants. As we were leaving the charity shop we saw this trailer go by, now we have seen it all, so to speak!!
When we got back, between showers, I planted up the bath and two sinks that had been left at the side of the house and Tina dug a trench in the lawn out front to try and control the ever growing pond on the drive!
Got dinner and have unpacked a couple more boxes. Decided to get the patchwork picture I did quite a while ago onto a wall as it has been boxed away since I made it.
Getting sorted for our trip to Peterborough tomorrow, five cakes and various other stuff to deliver so trying to be organised. Time to go and make a cuppa now.
So many different thing done again today. You need a day or so down south for a rest! I have to say I like all the things you’ve got. The auction items have been great for turning your rooms into a real home. I love all the chairs you’ve got now, and they all look really comfy. I’m really looking forward to seeing the finished result in person at some point.
ReplyDeleteThe front garden is a bit 'damp'. Maybe a few model boats on it and a fishing gnome by the side would make it into a feature :-) Lots of colour appearing now you’ve planted up the pots too. I particularly like the cast iron miniature bath.
I’m surprised you’ve never seen a 'dial a dog wash' trailer before. We had quite a few of them down this way for years. Perhaps they don’t have so many dogs up north, apart from whippets that is!
Still seems to be a lot to do, obviously plenty to keep me busy with the garden. If Tina reads your comment I should think she may smile, a fishing gnome, mmmmmm. I love that planter too and we think it will be safe in the front garden as it is pretty heavy.
ReplyDeletePlenty of dogs up here believe me, perhaps they just wash them themselves!
