Sea and sorting

My left ankle and right knee have been troublesome for nearly a week now, so haven't really been further that the near shops unless out in the car with Darren or Tina. But today they had both eased a bit so I set off firstly to the surgery so that I could get registered with a doctor. I went a different way so that I was walking down to the surgery rather that up to it, not that it is at all hilly here, but there is quite an incline on that particular road. I passed the language school and was interested to see that a Walking Football club meet there, can't say  I have ever seen a sign for one before.
Then passed Aspiration house, guess we could all do with some of that!
I was doing okay so walked on to the front to see the sea. Very grey and wintry today. I was going to walk down that lower walkway until I saw the spray!

I was very windy and the gulls were almost hovering trying to fly against it.

A gas man was doing work in the house today. I was expecting a delivery and Tina needed to go out for a bit so I stayed downstairs as I can't rush when I am up in my rooms and the bell goes. So I marzipanned the rest of the cakes, I have them everywhere and the decorations I was making last night!
Tina has been hard at the sorting today, I did help her for a while clearing folders of the work for recycling. A while ago she got me one of the wooden trees made from pallets. She also ordered me some large red cup hooks, as I wanted to hang my variety of hand made decorations on it. Needed the pliers to get the hooks in, my wrists aren't that strong anymore and the wood was hard.
Blue is getting much more inclined to sit on a lap occasionally, so Tina was chuffed when she settled with her for a bit.
The tree is now done and up on the bench, the one Tina would like me to polish when I get around to it!
I got my Wizard of Oz plates up on a wall, and also the one I painted of the Smokey mountains which I have never had on display before.

The floating shelves arrived and I assembled and put the smallest one up as that is why I ordered them. I needed a shelf so that I could have the electric toothbrush plugged in!
Does the job even if it isn't quite level!!

  1. Lots of walking today. Nice to see the sea though and take a few pics. The spray does look very fierce! Bet a few people get caught out with that.
The Christmas cakes look good. Soon be time to start all over again with the next batch. Assuming you’re going to do them again next year.
The tree is very unusual, and does look really good now youve decorated it. A good way of using old pallets.
I like all the plates, but the scarecrow is definitely my favourite. The little shelf looks level to me. As long as it does the job it doesn’t matter anyway. Good job you can turn your hand to most things.

  2. The scarecrow is my favourite too, but as he is my favourite character in one of my favourite films that isn't really surprising.
I feel like I will get the cakes done now, well, I don't have to get them all finished by Friday but will do my best.
There were some lads purposely getting in the spray, dad was amused but their mum definitely wasn't!
