Skirlington market and new cupboard

Darren and I went to Skirlington market and car boot sale this morning. They also had a Christmas event going on so it was very busy. Indoor and outdoor markets and then the car boot in another field. We found a great stall to buy our sausage sandwiches from and sat quite near a duck pond. Took pics of the pond from different sides and one of a very unusual piece of play apparatus which is presumably not usually a water jump!

We got some nice veg and pies for dinner but resisted buying lots of other bits as it will take us weeks to sort through what we have already!
Not long after we got back the man from the second hand shop arrived with my bargain cabinet. Got it into place behind the door, hoping it would prove useful for boxes etc.
It did, as the next picture demonstrates.
This afternoon, among other things, I have been letting people know like banks etc that I have changed my address. Got the driving licence sent off at the beginning of the week and wrote Christmas cards early with the new address inside, so I am getting there.
Before I went down to sort dinner I found some paints and a brush as I really wanted to try and capture a picture of the lovely flowers Anya sent a week ago. Not a great picture, but was nice to get something down on paper.
Still sorting, trying not to do too much as the knee is still not a happy bunny. Will watch Strictly results and Blue Planet ll.

  1. Looks like that’ll be a regular haunt for you and Darren, specially as it has good sausage baps! I know you both like your Sunday morning bargain hunting jaunts, so with it being a year round venue you’ll be well set up. Good idea not to buy too much before you get everything else sorted first. The cabinet looks great. Fits in nicely and you’ve got a lot of stuff in it out the way. Definitely a well spotted bargain.
Trips out, cooking, sorting, painting etc.....you’re like a mini whirlwind! Sit down and relax with your feet up :-)
Like the pic of the pond with the silhouetted birds by the way.

  2. Yes, I am sure we will have regular trips to the market and boot sale.
The cabinet is just what I needed to get some order into my stuff, it is a good size and not at all flimsy, so perfect really. Sad to see Davood leave Strictly, but it was a foregone conclusion.

  3. Aww.... Your soon settled. Your unit looks great , lovely to have somewhere to store things. Your painting is not bad for a quickie, Anya will be pleased you tried.
Sounds like your thinking of getting wheels again? Go for it. Xxx

  4. Sent the driving licence off for ID really, but you never know, will see how I manage for a while. Definitely getting there, when the missing stuff turns up from the auction house I will take some pictures of the rooms. I am really pleased with the unit, surprising how much goes on there! xx
