This morning we got up reasonably early, I booked a taxi to the station for 9.20 am and then Mike and I went and had breakfast. We were at the station in plenty of time and I waited with Mike until he was boarding the train for his journey home.
I had a coffee in town and got some bits including some cat food as we are almost out in the house and Tina doesn't want to order another huge amount before we move. Saw a great room screen in the shop where I bought the fair trade rug a couple of weeks ago. There was a huge plant in front of it and the reflections make it hard to see, but will post the picture anyway!
Back home I carried on sorting and packing, I have so much stuff and so many boxes!! I had a couple of bags ready for the charity shop and as Tina was going out for a meeting asked her to drop me off at the shop. Handed them in and then walked home via the cliff top. It was dry today and not quite as windy, but it was pretty cold. The sea didn't look too rough, but plenty of foam again and it seemed really loud today.
I have been pottering and sorting more boxes, I would like to think I have broken the back of the job but will be convinced of that in a couple of days.
I have spoken to Donna who says my plate and hedgehog planters have come out well. I will go to the studio in the morning and probably fill the pots this week. Sandy will be telling me about her holiday last week and a meeting they had about selling the studio today.
I enjoyed what will probably be my last breakfast in that little Scarborough cafe, and they do do an extremely nice one. I had a nice time up there with you all, and my trip home was a pleasant journey too, which rounded things off nicely.
ReplyDeleteThe screen does look quite nice. As you say not the best of pics, but if you’ve seen it in person and like it, then it must be ok. You’re pretty good at choosing bits of furniture, and will have a good idea if it’ll fit in with your stuff. If you do decide to go for it then don’t forget to do a bit of haggling. I know you’re not keen, but it does work at times :-)
I think you’ve done pretty well with the sorting and packing so far. The walls in your room did look very bare when I was there, but that’s a good thing. One or two less boxes to pack. You’ll crack it in time, I have every faith in your abilities. I’m guessing you’ll have a fair few days of being achey and exhausted in the process though :-( Don’t go too mad at it if you can help it!
You’ll miss photographing those bays, and the castle. You should definitely have a couple of enlargements framed and on one of your new walls as a reminder.
Sounds like photos of ceramics on the blog tomorrow. I’ll look forward to it.
Yes, think I am getting there, it does seem never ending though!
ReplyDeleteBeen looking at screens on line as well, and some really nice ones there. Thinking about getting a ready made one. I know yours would be very professional but I am beginning to think I will have plenty to occupy me!
I will miss the bay photography, although Hornsea is by the sea, which is great, being flat and not really a bay the views won't be the same!
I am looking forward to seeing the latest ceramics.
No, not too many high points in Hornsea, which is good for the legs, but not for the pics!
ReplyDelete:-) and :-(
ReplyDeleteMoving is so stressful but I'm sure things will fall into place. Is the screen made from cane, looks attractive and would be much lighter to move around ? Hornsea will give you lots of different views for photographs plus your not be far from Bridlington, lovely with the spring to look forward to. Your doing great. Xx
ReplyDeleteIt was in the window and screened off inside, but think it is a light wood and as it is carved as well so would be quite light, I wouldn't move it that often, as the bedroom is big and the sink is in there I just want to use a screen to hide it! xx
