Not a great deal to report today. Did go into town on the bus, had a package to send off, some coins to pay in and needed some birthday cards. Had also seen an advert for the Walkfit shoe inserts, on offer in Boots. Went and bought a pair, they look hard and uncomfortable but actually feel okay in the shoes. Worth a try, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Just had them in for an hour as suggested and with the thinnest arch corrector. We will see how it goes.
Apart from that I have packed a few more boxes, how can I need so many? I wanted a strong one to put the ceramics in from yesterday and some other breakables. The strongest box I had to hand was a banana box, thick but with air holes! So improvised making hole maskers before I packed it.
Tina has spoken to the painter, well, via text, but the same result. Seems like the builders haven't been in much this week although there finishing deadline was today. So looking unlikely that my stuff will be moved across on Saturday. Tina and I are going across tomorrow as we are meeting a man who does fences as there are some broken ones in the garden.
May settle down for a George Gently repeat as there won't be anymore new ones!
The inserts do look quite hard, but obviously not. I really hope they help, as it would be great to find a solution. I know you won’t be holding your breath, as you’ve been there many times already. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of messing around with the boxes! It really is a shame the movers didn’t supply proper boxes as it would make the packing a fair bit easier. I know how many ceramic pieces you have, and how much they mean to you. Hopefully they’ll be handled with care during the move.
Tomorrow will be interesting. No worries as far as the decorators are concerned, but builders.....well that’s another matter!
Will try the inserts a few more times, but not tomorrow as they suggest you build up the time gradually.
ReplyDeleteI have packed the ceramics really well, so I think they will be okay.
The painters are doing a great job at Hornsea, quite a challenge of a place. Jury is out with the standard of work with the builders, looks like we won't be judging it for a while.
