All hands on deck, so to speak!

On the way home last night Tina and I got the curtains and pole for the spare room. This morning Darren, Mike and I went for breakfast and then Darren went off the get a punctured tyre repaired. Mike and I came back to the house, we had got some tools out before we went for breakfast and Tina had just got some more stuff ready to take to Hornsea. We needed to be there in good time and a man was coming to measure the hall and kitchen for flooring.
When we arrived Mike got back into the downstairs loo, Tina started in the garden after she had delivered a letter and I went off to get supplies.
Tina and I shifted about six or seven barrows of bark and mould from one side of the walled garden, Darren became barrow boy for us for a while.
I know I put a picture of the garden and fabulous tree on the blog yesterday, but this is from the landing window.
We also lifted some pavers in the walled garden that were a risk hazard because they were lifted. Meanwhile, with the help of a heater to dry it out today, Mike finished papering the downstairs loo, fantastic job and it is now ready for painting.
Tina and I had got the underlay up in the guest bedroom and moved it downstairs and we folded up the carpet ready for the men to carry down. Mike and Darren then put up the curtain poles so we could hang the curtains. We set to clearing up outside and downstairs.
So, my living room curtains are in place.
And the guest room ones we got last night.
We had dinner at the fish and chip shop near the front before the men set off, Tina and I went to get some basic shopping before we made our way back.
A quiet evening and Mike and I have enjoyed Strictly.

  1. It was a very good day. As you said we got lots done between us. I’m looking forward to seeing the loo with a coat of paint on it now. I don’t think I went into the garden today as I was in the loo a lot of the time. Can see from the pics that you did a fair bit though. It’s all starting to come together now, the curtains make the rooms more cosy, and the colour choices were very good.
Really love the pic through the landing window with the inside wall in shadow. Great capture.
I’ve had a good day, and a lovely evening, rounded off nicely with monks :-)

  2. We were watching The Retreat, Meditations from the Monastery, very unusual. Another busy but good day.
