Calmer day today! have done some washing, filled the bird feeders and pottered. Then took a walk to the new little craft shop that has opened to book a place on and evening craft course. Material Christmas wreaths is the first one, the same day as I do my first button class! Then I went and collected the ceramics we painted when Isobel was here. My plate is in the window display at the moment so have left it until Sunday.
I collected Isobel's and Darren's creations though, have pictured everything else we did in one shot!
Went to Sainsbury's and had a bit of lunch with Tina and we both had a small amount of shopping to get. Just going to get straightened up now as I didn't clear up too well before I took Isobel home. Mike is coming up for a short visit over the weekend, he is fetching my final two boxes and my ironing board, then I won't have anybody looking after anything for me!

Back in Scarborough now. Had a really nice meal out although only Angie, Michelle and myself in the end. But we had a great evening with a lovely meal and good service again.
Saw Clare this morning and we walked through the village to get nice fresh rolls for lunch. this was our 'make us look even fatter' photo!
This afternoon we went out for coffee and a good natter with Sarah, haven't seen her since I moved so that was a good catch up.
Finally, for a change, sunset from Peterborough station!!

Last night I stayed with Margherita and Rose and Margherita and I had an enjoyable game of Scrabble and a good catch up natter. This morning Mike and I took them across to have breakfast at Van Hage and a look round the shops there. This afternoon we visited the two ladies we used to see every week. Here is Ruby at a very young 94 years!
She was pleased to see me and show me the craft she has been doing recently. Tonight I am off to meet a few friends for a meal.

This morning Tina and I took Isobel and Piper on the dragon boats, once round the island was quite enough for both of us! We did see a heron which was nice.
Then Isobel and I walked to the train station and caught the train to sea life.
We had a play on the Pirate Mini Golf!
After the train ride back we looked at the monsters being made ready for the halloween celebrations!
Walked through the park on the way back.
After that, back to get packed and ready for the journey home, which went well and Isobel was very
pleased to see her mum again!

Today the plan was to go to Cayton Bay Holiday park and get day passes. Tina kindly gave us a lift to the station to catch the bus which was good. Isobel climbed up onto the seats to wait for said bus!
The swimming pool wasn't open when we got there so we had a very windy game of crazy golf.
We went in the pool, no photos allowed there, but we were about an hour in the water and Isobel braved the water slides for the first time. She really swims well with the arm bands now which was lovely to see. After that out on the play equipment for a bit.
Then it was off to the beach, the wind was very strong and nearly blew us down the ridiculously steep hill. Here is Isobel as we set off.
This picture because I like it, no other reason!
A couple of beach shots -
Then the start of the climb back.
Then back at the top.
We caught the bus back to Scarborough, walked through town having luxury hot chocolate on the way, walked home and have been out for pizza this evening, so another full day.

A very full day today, Isobel and I were out and about for over seven hours! We went to pottery painting and Darren joined us which was great. Isobel painted several little things and Darren and I had one project each and both did one for Isobel.
Bet you can't guess which one was mine! Isobel sat with Darren, not sure if that was when we were waiting for the scrumptious cakes!
I went to the loo and they are tiling the walls with customers hand prints, so Isobel and I both did a tile so that we can go and see them on the wall next time!
After that we went to the beach, Darren did join us for a while. Isobel got cold but loved it again, we took towel and dry clothes so she was soon warmed up again afterwards.
She nearly disappeared in the rock pools!
I spent a few minutes trying to catch the gulls over the sea.....
We caught the bus to the south bay and the first stop there was a trip out on the pirate ship! A fellow passenger took a picture of us.
After that we spent time in a couple of arcades and did bring home prizes! After lunch we caught the bus back, and as the weather was still good we had a game of crazy golf.
Walking home we met up with Darren, Tina, Sandy and Piper, Isobel and Piper soon made friends.

Today I made a cake in the morning as Anya and family were arriving at lunch time. Isobel was looking at her bags of bits for her birthday.
We all went for a walk down to the fish and chip restaurant along North Bay. Isobel and Louis went on the beach, we walked along the front.
Then they checked out the rock pools.
Back home her favourite 'person' to be visiting is of course Colonel!
Isobel is staying with me until Tuesday, Anya and Louis headed off home at around 3.30 pm and we have had a film on, made a bracelet and of course spent time with Colonel. Now showered and we will get the bed down in a bit and watch Strictly snuggled up!!

A couple of weeks ago I bought some soil improver and get around to distributing the whole sack full round the front garden this morning. It is very heavy clay so probably a couple more sacks would be good. I wrapped up my presents for the family in America and parcelled them up ready to send surface mail. So, took the trolley, went to the post office and then off to get some shopping in ready for Isobel coming to stay for a couple of days. Walking up Dean Road I passed this building, I think it is impressive and walk that way quite regularly. It is a social services place now but wonder if it was a school when it was built, something to find out!
Outside the supermarket were some berries, not seen a lot of colour this autumn so took a picture.
On the way back I took a picture of pretty little violets that just grow in the wall along the road.
Off to see The Eva Cassidy Story with Tina this evening at the Spa threatre, so looking forward to that.

A very pleasant day, I did manage to go swimming, haven't been for quite a while. Then I walked down to the front, plenty of dog walkers and a lovely morning. Took this picture as I headed back.
I walked back through the park and a squirrel came up to my feet and stopped looking up at me, didn't have anything for him but he sat long enough for me to get the camera out!
Then a pigeon preening, wild life morning!
Then a picture of the lake which looked stunning this morning.
It is Tina's day off today and we did some sorting in the spare bedroom as she has company coming at the weekend. Then we decided to go and have a walk round The Mere as it was such a lovely morning. We cut up some spare bread before we went as there are a lot of ducks, geese and swans there. After we had enjoyed out cuppa and sausage bap we went to feed the birds, a real feeding frenzy!!
I fed some of the geese brave enough to come close!
Then we walked round the lake, a beautiful place.
Lastly, I just like this picture of a swan swimming away.

This morning Darren and I did some household chores and he found a couple of otter pictures that he got for me months ago at a boot sale, and then lost them as they were packing to move. I hung them above my bed with a nice picture of Darren and I which hadn't been given wall space since I arrived.
Before we went out I sat and made a poster for the craft group. Then we had lunch and Darren dropped me off near the community centre so I could hand in the poster and make a couple of samples.
I did make a calendar and two cards, all including buttons, but have left them at the centre and didn't take pictures. Now I am knitting to add to the invasion of the hedgehogs!!
