Yesterday evening I was admiring the sky from the window and taking pictures.
Tina got home from choir practice and phoned me to say it was a nice sunset and was in the car outside if I wanted to go and see it over the sea. We went down and it was a lovely evening, we stopped midway between the bays to start.

We were driving home and then stopped in the north bay to see more of the beach and sea.

The sea looked almost white, quite lovely.
This morning Darren took me to the hotel so that I could use the pool. I stopped in for about half an hour and had it to myself again. I tried to do lots of leg moving exercises and well as a bit of swimming, as I am not walking much at the minute. After that I talked to the duty manager to see if I could move a chair and do a sketch of the staircase. It had seemed like a good idea, but a very difficult thing to actually do. I was an hour or so and just did a pencil sketch.
Last night, with regret for me, although no doubt with relief to everyone else, I decided it was time to use a mobility scooter as I need to reduce the amount of pain I am experiencing. To me this was one major back step as I had continued to be positive, or at least tried to, that all would be well. So made my way to the mobility place, they must get funding as I really don't know how they can loan out the scooters at such a ridiculously low rate, £10 and you can use them as often as you like for a year. After the paperwork, reading the conditions and paying, had a short practice with the lady in the shop making sure I was okay, and I went of into town for an hour or so. It was a small one and felt a little wobbly, so will try a bigger one next time, they have a lot to choose from. Thought I had better include a photo to prove I actually did use one!
It will be useful while I wait for the referral and hopefully find out what the problem is with my ankle.
I caught the bus home after I dropped it off, had a drink with Darren and Tina and then got the ingredients together to make a vegetable cottage pie. I had one on Sunday when we were on out way home from Silverstone and enjoyed it so thought I would give it a try. It turned out really well, I had a portion and boxed up three more to go in the freezer. Tina will enjoy it, but not Darren.
We haven't had a message about the furniture so looks like  plod on at my own pace over the weekend.

  1. Some cracking pictures of the sky! I love the one with the gull on the chimney, but as much as I'm used to the aerial, I think I'd edit it out on that one.
The drawing of the staircase is very good. It would suit being in the style that I really love. Dont think I need to tell you what that is :-)
I know you really would rather not use a scooter, but I think it's a very sensible choice. It'll take a lot of pressure off your ankle until they can sort it out, and it still lets you get out and about. Plus you can run over idiots that get in your way. Win win situation! Bit easier up those hills too, and hopefully good brakes for going down!

  2. Not sure I will attempt the staircase again. Did have a pen with me but thought it was a bit too much of a challenge. Maybe one day
The mobility scooters will definitely make things easier for now.
