Yesterday evening I got on with the fairy house. Wasn't sure about it in artificial light but was pleased when I saw it in daylight this morning.
I caught the early bus into town and went to the pool. It wasn't open but a young man had come down at the same time as me, so I sent him up to ask at reception. I had half an hour in the pool, no one on duty down there, which didn't worry me too much but I could have had a heart attack! After that I had poached eggs on toast in the cafe nearby so that I could take my pill, then made my way to the mobility place. Got the same scooter as I had on Saturday and did a bit of shopping before making my way to the studio. I didn't do the pots today, finished painting the penguin, I used a grey colour 'fairy dust' paint on the head, as the pictures I have seen have the top of the head glistening so thought I would try to get the effect.
I also painted an egg and toast plate as I wanted to use a new colour they have called cafe au lait.
They have a very large dog 'one off' bisque which they want to sell. They are going to reduce the price, but if it still doesn't go they would like me to paint it for them so that they can sell it as a finished piece.
I left the studio and made my way back to the mobility store. Making my way to the bus stop I saw this fuzzy plant which I thought was attractive.
Darren and I got a metal bowl at the boot sale a few weeks ago, it has been sat neglected for a while now, so as I am in polishing mode I decided to see what I could do to cheer it up.
It was a bit mucky as you can see, looks a lot better now.
I got a plant at the sale on Sunday, Darren dropped it getting it into the house, and I knocked it over when re-potting it, so hopefully now it can settle down! I will eventually, if it has no more trauma, get little baby plants along the leaves.
Last picture today is of the baby seagull that has just emerged from the chimney opposite, have been watching the parents feed it for a while.
Holby tonight, so tissues at the ready!

  1. Lots of craft work on here tonight. The fairy house looks great. I didn't expect it to be finished so quickly. I thought doing all that detail with the iron would take ages. The pyrography and the colouring really work well on it. The penguin has turned out well too. I hope it goes as black as you want it to when it's fired. As for the boiled egg plate, I really like that. Such a good idea too. I can never find an eggcup when I want one, and the Noddy one I had years ago disappeared somewhere! If you do end up painting the dogs it'll definitely take a while. Hopefully someone will buy it and paint it themselves and save you the trouble. Although I know you'd enjoy doing it anyway.
The plant you bought looks very green, as do all the others in the background of the picture. Doesn't look too traumatised either, so hopefully it'll grow ok.
The gull is cute, but doesn't look much like a seagull yet. Bet it won't be long before it's swooping down and nicking people's chips though :-)

  2. Definitely a 'crafty' entry today. I think the fairy house is cute, I am glad I bought it. I enjoy the pyrography and am temped to get one of the better quality irons, will give it some thought. The new colour comes out like milk chocolate, Sandy had used it and I really liked it.so wanted to paint something. She and I were saying that you could use the egg plate of dip and breadsticks or veggies, not necessarily just for boiled eggs.
The plant are all flourishing, hope I do have plenty of space when we move on.
