This morning I phoned to make a doctor's appointment because the pain in my ankle was giving me some concern. He was a locum and very pleasant, gave my ankle a good check over and said I should stay off it for a while, ice it a few times a day, take the Naproxin pills and maybe get a heel wedge to not strain the Achilles too much. He said I would not have been able to get up the stairs to him if I had done anything too drastic! So, I will try using it less, and see if that makes a difference.
There is a cricket match this week, and as the visitors all park on this street it is often difficult for Darren and Tina to find a space. despite this Darren took me out to Deans, I wanted to look at the ankle wellingtons and also wanted a narrow pot and a plant so that I could put something in the colourful jug. We had a nice lunch there and then had a look around. Loved this hanging basket.
And these gazanias.
Plenty of butterflies and bees about, which Darren and I are both very keen to see and help when we can but getting insect friendly plants.
Darren dropped me off at the studio on the way back. Sandy offered to take me hope later so not too much walking today. Sadly there wasn't room for my fairy or the snail in this weeks firing so I just have a picture of the final bowl for now.
I tried some boots on as the wellingtons I couldn't get over my instep. They were expensive so will have a think about them. I bought some pots and a new plant, but they didn't work out quite as I had hoped.
So I have put the spider plant in the jug, propped up inside to make it higher.
I will try to find a suitable container for the attractive new plant.
The storm was rolling in earlier, we have had thunder and lightening and torrential rain for a while now.
This insect won't have found much shelter on my window!
Going to give my foot the shock treatment now, may not help but it is a nice sensation!
Glad the foot check up didn't find any drastic problems. You'll definitely have to take it easier for a little while. I know you'll find it hard, but it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteVery colourful pictures this evening, beautiful flowers! And speaking of colourful, your final bowl is very bright and colourful. You now have a great set of bowls to use. I'd be frightened I'd break one!
The spider plant looks good in the pot, and I'm sure you'll find a good home for the new one you got.
No rain or thunder here, yet. Could certainly do with it.
I am pleased I went to the docs, still find the pain a bit worrying to be honest, but hopefully the resting will help.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers as you say, and you know I really like the bowls.
Sorry the ankle is no better but you really must stay in for 2/3 days, very difficult I appreciate but like my knee rest is the best option. Harder for you being upstairs on your own. But try you must. Lots of tennis today, were sitting in with the fan on. Deans is a lovely place, very colourful this time of the year. Chin up love life is a bitch. Xxx
ReplyDeleteWatching tennis myself, two Brits down, hopefully the next two will be winners. Time for another ice attack I think.xxx
