It has been a relatively lazy day today. Spent the morning in and doing the washing and a bit of sorting stuff out. A lovely day so managed to get the washing out on the line and dry. At lunch time the three of us went to Morrisons, had some lunch, eventually, took over half an hour to get it and that was after I went up and asked if it was on it's way. Wasn't busy in there either. We stocked up with some shopping and dropped it back home and then Tina and I went to collect the cats. colonel wasn't looking too well when we arrived so the lady and Tina got some water into him and he brightened up a bit. Blue cried from the moment she was in the carrier, Charlie was fairly relaxed only mewed a bit and Colonel sat on my lap for the journey home.He had been falling about in the carrier when we dropped them off.
Darren has gone to his club this evening and Tina and I watched some para sport.
I will write a bit more about the Silverstone experience. On Friday we were cold in the stand, the wind was bitter and as it had been a good forecast we hadn't really taken appropriate clothing. I got a Lewis t-shirt because I wanted one, but Tina had to buy a hoodie to keep warm! We had read that there were buses to get around the site, but they didn't come near out stand, they seemed to be going round the inner track area.
I think I took this picture of the sky before the rain added to our discomfort.
Between races a gang of workers went out to check the tack for debris.
After the race yesterday I took some shots of the large screen, probably you will have seen them on the tv if you watched the race. I liked this one of our proud winner.
We didn't do it, in my case for obvious reasons, but after the race anyone who wanted to could go and walk on the track.

Let's get back to me and my funny interests! We had passed this dead tree each day and I thought it was great! As we were in a queue leaving I could get a decent picture of it.

It was a pretty long journey home as the first half an hour or so was at a snails pace. Ought to finish with the sky from home!
I will try and sort through some of the car pictures for tomorrow.

  1. Back to normality, washing etc, after your jet setting weekend! Not had a meal in Morrisons for a long time. I know they used to do a really good fish and chips at one time, don't know if they still do. Not tried the Sainsbury's version for a while either.
Bet the cats are pleased to be home to get fussed over a bit more than in the cattery. Have they taken up residence in your lounge already?
Shame about the cold weather you had at the weekend, but at least race day wasn't too bad. I didn't realise they let the public go onto the track at all. I bet people are looking for bits of cars to take home as souvenirs :-) I can see why you didn't bother though. At least you've been there and done it. Seen LH have a great day and best of all win the British Grand Prix! Another thing to tick off the list.....just leaves the sky diving, parachuting and deep sea diving then!
Funky tree, which only you would have spotted, and there had to be a sky to finish on.

  2. The cats all seem pleased to be home. Charlie has had plenty to eat and gone off to check out his domain. Blue is scatty and vocal and Colonel has been snuggled up with Tina.
Not many safety cars in the race, but I am sure some people found souvenirs to take home with them. Thought you would like the tree.
