Indian block printing

For my birthday Anya got me a voucher to use at Beehive Well-being who run craft workshops. Although there are courses in the Hull area they are all on a Sunday so no good for Tina, and the venue is not easily accessible on public transport. So I booked a session for us both in Knaith which is a village in Lincolnshire. We set off before eight as it started at 9.30am. It was a pleasant trip and we arrived on time, just two other ladies attended. Louise, who was running the workshop was lovely and had an impressive number of blocks and a good range of fabric paints. We practiced on sheets of paper, a photo of the drying sheets and photos of my two sheets.
Then we had a choice of printing on a bag or a tea towel. Printed on both sides, I am happy with my bag.
We would love to go to another of her workshops. We had a good drive home and I had the extra bonus of going over the bridge twice.
We had a snack and then I went out for a walk. The sea was grey today. I did a sketch while I was out.
Nothing else to say except I am relaxing now with Pandora on my lap!

  1. What great little trip out. It looks like real fun doing those prints. I love the colours and designs you used. The bag is lovely. I bet you’re really pleased with it. I can see why you’d both be happy to go on another workshop.
The sea does look very grey and miserable today, but it’s still the sea and a much better view than I have any day 🙂
    I like your sketch.

It is good to see the sea, whatever the weather.
