Hornsea mere and trip to Driffield

I did the usual morning shopping and then walked to the mere to do a sketch. I didn’t go to the area where the ducks gather. Took a couple of photos of course.
Before lunch I decided it was time to tackle the plethora of leaves and weeds in the walled garden.
After lunch I went back outside but stopped when Darren asked if I wanted to go to Driffield with him, he had some archery stuff to collect. After he had collected his goods we went on to Bell Mills garden centre which is just down the road. We had a drink and the had a look round. I bought some bird food and we were met with ravenous birds again. Darren did take a couple of pics but they may be on tomorrow. I took one of the view.
I bought some bird feeders and a hedgehog bowl!
We used all the bird food! I also got some great baubles.
I finished off, well as much as I was about to do and packed the tools away when I got home.

  1. Well you certainly did a lot more steps than me. I didn’t leave the flat at all!
Looks very wintery at the mere, but then I suppose it is 🙂 Nice sketch of the boats.
The wall garden is a lovely area to have, but it looks a daunting task when it comes to tidying it up! It definitely looks better in the after pic. Can’t say I blame you for dropping everything and going with Darren. Much more fun 🙂 Nice little shopping haul too. I like the baubles. Soon be time to use them too 🎄
    Humbug!

  2. I rarely get tempted by baubles, but twelve.such pretty ones for £4 was too much of a bargain to miss. Baubles at our local garden centre are £4 each or more!
I was a bit chilly at the mere, but something different to sketch.
