Crafted poppy

This morning I set off for a walk and did a sketch when walking along the trail.
I walked along the path by the water to Tesco and took this photo on the way.
Bought a couple of bits in Tesco and then walked home and dropped the shopping off, then went out again and scoured the charity shops and the two clothes shops. I was looking for a top to wear tomorrow. Didn’t find one.
The WI competition next Monday is for a crafted poppy. I bought some air drying clay the other day, and now the Twelve Days of Christmas sheets are done I got around to using it. Hopefully it will dry out by the weekend so that I can paint it.
I was supposed to be going to a group in the parish hall this afternoon but she decided she didn’t feel up to it, so I caught the bus up to Freeport. Went in the couple of clothes shops and bought a jumper that I will probably wear tomorrow. Called in at the pottery for a drink and had a chat with Caroline.
Took a photo of this rather striking  flowering yucca.
Dinner sorted and rucksack packed, so ready for the drama on tv in a bit.

  1. Another good sketch. I recognise the subject matter from a pic you must have taken at some point. Just a pipe, but nice.
I hope all the apples in the community orchard don’t actually have grubs in them like on the sign! 🙂
I like the air dry clay model. Looks like a poppy to me. Looks very fragile. Hope the cat doesn’t decide to play with it!
Shame you didn’t get to the parish hall, but it gave you chance to do a bit of retail therapy 😊 I’ll look forward to seeing you in the new jumper tomorrow.
Hope the trip goes without any hitches tomorrow. I’m looking forward to your visit. See you soon.

  2. The poppy is drying out now, still all together so hopefully it will be left alone for me to paint at the weekend!
The pipe is along the trail, so you have probably seen it when you have had a walk up here, I hve taken pics of that view as well.
Hopefully the journey will go without a hitch.
