Going dotty one last time!

This morning was the last dot art group session. No Tamar this week but I had things reasonably organised when the three ladies arrived. I had bought some nice wooden flower shapes that would make good pot stands and  drew a pattern on each of them as the ladies liked that pattern. I made a Christmas cake for the house and we cut into it today, it is nice  and moist. I showed the ladies the stuff I had done for the Welcome Centre meeting tomorrow and I think they were quite keen to give both techniques a try. The pot stands turned out really well, I paints one too, and I got them all varnished and ready for use before the ladies left.
Tina got some bacon and we had nice rolls for lunch.
Pandora has been itching to get outside, she did have a little taster the other day. I have given up on the harness so today we let her out for a few minutes, and then I went out with a coffee to sit in the summer house, not a great day for that, and kept an eye on her for a few mor minutes. We made sure Blue was in, we need Pandora to be sure of the layout before they decide to chase each other away! I am sure she will be  desperate to repeat the experience now! Took a picture of the afternoon misty sun while I was out there.
This afternoon I have packed the trolley ready for the meeting tomorrow and made a couple of signs, even found the laminator and used it. That rarely sees the light of day, I am amazed I knew where it was.
As I now have the varnish I gave the two dolphin pieces a couple of coats so that the two ladies can use them as place mate if they want to. It really does liven the colours out once they have varnish on.
I watch an old film yesterday evening, well, from 1995, so not that old, it was called Daisies in December and was charming. May see if I can find another film to watch this evening!

  1. All the coasters and the dolphin place mats look great. As you say the varnish really does bring out the colours. The dot art had proved to be a good technique and very popular too. Great result from what is a very simple idea. Seems like you’ve got some recruits for your button sessions already.
Bet Pandora loved being outside. Although it must have seemed really strange for her. She’ll be gagging to get out there again, so I hope you’re prepared for a bit of cat sitting in the garden 😊
I quite like the misty sun, but I think it looks better with the bottom cropped off to the top of the greenhouse. Each to their own I suppose.
Your calligraphy is very good. You could run a session in that too 😊

  2. Yes, the classes have been worth it, butglad in a way they have come to an end! But I think the ladies today will definitely be tempted to try the other techniques.
That would look good cropped, I rarely put pics on that aren’t as they have been taken, should perhaps be a bit more adventurous!
Pandora has been snoozing for a while now, all the excitement!
