Quiet day

Energy levels seem on the down at the moment, anyone would think I was retired! Blue wasn’t well yesterday so I went with Tina to Bridlington to the vet.
They were good and saw her after about fifteen minutes and she had an injection and has been okay but sleepy for the rest of the day. I did a few chores and popped to the shops this morning. Visited Lesley this afternoon and after dinner Tina fancied a bit of fresh air so we went to the front. The moon was very bright this evening.
So a quiet day, maybe my get up and go will return tomorrow. I did take a walk round the garden to see if the new plants look okay. We have had a few showers today so all was well and the cats haven’t dug any up! It is looking tidy at the moment and a bit of colour. If it is bright tomorrow I will take some photos.

Discharged from hospital

This morning Tina drove me to the Spire hospital for a final check up as it is exactly a year since the surgery. X-rays were fine and he is pleased with how I can move the leg so discharged. I did mention the fact that both knees have been painful, but ai had already thought that it was not really down to the latest surgery. Well, maybe connected because I am walking differently now, but have been to the doctors more than enough times! So onward and upward, fingers crossed.
We stopped for a drink on the way home and the rest of the day I have done some washing and got the rest of the plants and bulbs into the garden. Haven’t taken any pics today so will see if there are a couple of memories to add.
Some from seven years ago when Anya and I went to see Young Frankenstein.

Day of catch ups

A day of catch ups was started by seeing one of the ladies at the banking hub who I haven’t seen for several weeks. They have been having a lot of  shift changes. While I was waiting for Sher to collect me I noticed a different, and very pretty flower in the front garden. I didn’t plant anything there and I haven’t got any more of them on the garden as far as I know.
Had a nice brunch with Sher at the tea shop at Mappleton. She is a very busy lady so nice that we had a bit of tome together. Then this afternoon I went to see Sarah and David. They were fine but not happy that it is getting colder again. Home for a short while then went to see Lesley for a bit. So a no garden day !
I also forgot to do a sketch last night, kept it up, kept it up for five months. Did do one late on Saturday.
At the hospital for final check up of the knee in the morning.

Quiet morning, busy afternoon

We did go to the boot sale this morning, and Darren’s leg is a lot better so he managed to walk all the way round. I just bought another six bedding plants and a lovely glass chopping board which was only £1.50.
I did a bit of tidying and had a chat with Anya before getting lunch.
This afternoon I went out to the garden again and decided to clear and dig the bed by the greenhouse where I have grown sun flowers the last two years.
That took a bit over two hours.
I had a short break and a cuppa indoors then went out and got fifty of the plants into beds. Hulk in the front and half in the back.
We had dinner later tonight as Tina had a service at out usual eating time. All cleared away now and soon be time to watch the Throw Down final.

Back to the garden

I walked up to Tesco for the lunch rolls today as I wanted a few other things that I cannot get in the nearer shops. A bit later I went to visit a friend and then went to get some keys cut for Tina. We had both tried before during the week and the shop was closed and had different times on the door. But today they were open, so a successful attempt.
After lunch I went back into the garden to try and get the bed I was working on finished.
It took a while digging the middle fruit bush out, a large weed had grown through the centre of it and is made it difficult to get to the fruit last year,  the very large root of the weed wa entwined in the bush roots, no easy jobs in this garden! I work for a couple of hours again, haven’t managed to get the new plastic squares under the bird baths completely flat but it will do for now!
We have hd dinner and now I am flopped for the evening.

Visits and plants

I went along to the shops before going to visit Bel. She was okay today and had finished the jigsaw she had just started last week. I remembered to take round my last subscription jigsaw so she has another one to begin. When I got home Tina was ready to take me to the nursery to get some bedding plants. They hadn’t got any bedding plants in yet but I did get a picture of one of the chickens that was roaming around.
As we got no plants there we went to the garden centre and got quite a nice selection.
We had lunch when we got home and then I took the plant I had borrowed back to the shop and then made my way to Jens via the se and. Stop for a sketch.
Jean is doing okay and was really pleased that she managed to get to church for a service on Wednesday.
Terry gave me a lift home as usual. My groceries had arrived and there were some daffodils with a card, not only are the veggies brilliant but that is the second time the delivery has included a little gift which is such a nice touch.
Darren and Tina are both out so home alone this evening.

Feeling a bit pooped!

I didn’t have the best of nights, and I think the previous days of gardening have caught up with me. So much as my heart wanted to finish off the other part of the bed my head said different, and for once I listened to the head. I walked down the road this morning and picked up a prescription and bought a few plants. They are still by the back door, will get them in over the weekend,
I called in to see Sher at the shop and borrowed a succulent for todays sketch and then went to visit another friend this afternoon.
So will finish with Tuesday sketch and todays.
