Up and out early

I had made arrangements weeks ago to meet up with Judi in Beverley at 10 am today. I didn’t check the buses until yesterday as they are Hoy nice an hour, but not at just after half eight, so I had to catch the one just after seven thirty! The loos and some cafes were open so had a drink before I could browse in some shops. We were meeting at The Treasure House, which I hadn’t been to before but it hoses the library, an art gallery and a museum. Quite an unusual building too.
We had a drink and snack at the cafe and a good natter and then had a quick look in the art gallery and museum. Now that I know it is there and what it has to offer I will be going there again. We walked some of the way back through the town together as I headed for the bus station and Judi back to her car.
I had a wander round the garden and decided I didn’t need to water this evening. The acer trees are looking good. One has been in the ground for about three years now but the other one was in a pot until last year, they were the same size plants when I got them when we lived in Scarborough.
I had an unexpected phone call this afternoon, it was a lady from the museum telling me I had one a prized in the raffle held at the ceramics festival so I went along and collected it. Will be looking for a bargain lampshade now!
I have done a couple of loads of whe if and am still in sorting mode, best make hay while the sun shines!

  1. 7.30am is halfway through the day……for me at least. I’m normally out and about by then. You lead a cushy life, you’re getting soft 😂
The Treasure House is an unusual name for a building. Sounds like an interesting place from your description. Another place to add to your list of places to revisit, if you ever get the time that is.
The Acer trees do look a bit different. Poor little thing trapped in a pot all that time. Tut tut 😉
You are so jammy when it comes to winning raffles. That’s quite a nice light. Once it’s got a bargain car boot lampshade on it, it’ll look even better.
Do teapot shaped vases and ceramic table lamps count as clutter?……….no 🙂
Keep on sorting, the sun won’t last too long.

  2. Yes, I am getting up later these days, I am getting on a bit though!
Only had a quick look in the museum so definitely needs a longer visit. We looked at quite a lot of the paintings and wondered how some people ever get famous! Think it’s who you know, not what you know.
Hopefully the acer will flourish now, though doubt it will catch up with the other one.
Perhaps not a lamp I would have chosen, but a nice piece of ceramic.
