Slow start

Wasn’t feeling at my best this morning, I think the pain in the neck is getting me down a bit. Still trying to unblock a particularly resistant toilet didn’t help! I did a few chores and went across to Number Nine and had a cuppa and chat with Sher and Haley, always a boost. I called in at Countdown and bought an old fashioned mop bucket. Whatever gadgets they bring out I would still rather use an old fashioned mop! The bush that hangs over the front wall is looking glorious in the sunshine.
The front garden is getting untidy gain as I have been concentrating on the back. I was going to work on the front bed then I noticed that the bed by one of the gates has an abundance of sticky weed, which brings me out in a rush. So thought I had better get on top of it before it got too big.
That area is clearer now.
It is Darren’s birthday today and he and Tina have spent a couple of days in Beverley. Looks like a very interesting afternoon tea that he was tucking into!
I phone Bel on Thursday evening to check she still wants a visit. No answer this evening which is unusual. I was gong to try again in a bit but couldn’t settle without checking she was okay, so walked round there. All was well, she has had trouble with the phone before.
I have been out with the hose this evening, the rain dance didn’t work!

  1. The pain in the neck really is a pain in the neck! The sooner it gets better the better. Those two sentences are weird 🙂 Definitely a good idea going to visit Sher as I know she usually makes you smile.
I’ve still got an old fashioned mop and a bucket. On a side note the old mops make excellent giant plungers for blocked loos.
The yellow bush looks wonderful. I really like that. Could do with some colour in our communal garden here. It’s so bland and basic. Don’t think it’ll ever change unless we get a very keen gardener move in. Could do with you here really 😂
I hope you wrapped up well before you tackled the sticky weed that bites back? Does make sense not to wait until it gets too big. Or better still get a housemate to deal with it 🙂
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARREN
I quite like the look of that afternoon tea. Better than cucumber and salmon sarnies! Bet he enjoyed that.
You are good going round to check on Bel. But as you say you wouldn’t have rested properly until you heard from her.
Hopefully you’ll be sat with your feet up now?

  2. I did use the mop as a plunger, dual purpose which is good, especially with our ancient plumbing!
That bush is lovely, and prickly too so that part of the wall is not used by weary passers by!
I think there is more sticky weed in some other beds, so will endeavour to cover them soon.
That afternoon tea was at the American Diner in Beverley, i imaging you would really enjoy it.
I know Bel has very good neighbours, but as she is in her nineties and a bit shake on her legs I just wanted to be sure she was okay.
Been sat doing a ord puzzle, without a cat as she is out, will go and let her in soon.
