I have tried to get on with sorting the 1000 small buttons into colour groups, may finish sorting them this evening before I end up seeing buttons everywhere I look!
I was given a large plant at Christmas and it is producing a new leaf. The pot I had it in was too small and I could lift the flowerpot out to see if it needed water. A few of my other plants have strong stems and I can lift them by picking the plant up complete with pot but the new one feels like it will snap if I do that. So I took my ruler with me nd went to Boyes and got a nice new pot very cheaply. The new leaf it the curled red piece in the middle, the plant has those spikes as well.
Tina is feeling a bit better and decided to make candles today, and she has snooker and darts to watch on the tv, so I went into the front garden. Pandora wa out keeping an eye on me, she went and sat under the yukka when she was getting too hot in the sun.
I should have taken a before photo as I was working for a couple of hours but I will just say that I cleared all the way along this edge and you couldn’t really see there were large stones when I started and they were screened by the weeds in the gravel and hanging down from the beds!
Best get back to those buttons!
Bel does really well to do the things she does. Sounds like her house is in fine order. Will there be anything for the new cleaner to do?
ReplyDeleteThe button colours do look very nice, but I don’t think I’d want to be sorting a thousand of them! You’ll definitely be seeing coloured spots before the eyes when you lay down in the dark tonight 🙂 I do hope the group enjoy the button craft after all the work!
I do envy you having so many nice plants. I love to see big green plants with big leaves like those, but as you know I’m a plant killer! I’ve been looking at some terrariums at the garden centre Brian and I go for coffee on a Wednesday. They don’t need watering and only need uncorking occasionally when the moisture build up is too much. They’re expensive though. Do you think I’d manage to kill something like that? 🙄
I remember the pic of the last lot of candles Tina made, they were really nice. You’ll have to post the new ones.
You didn’t need a before picture, I can imagine how bad it was from your description. I’m sure after a couple of hours of that you’d had enough! Maybe it won’t grow back again, wouldn’t that be nice? 😊

I have just finished the button sorting, at this precise moment if I never see a button again it won’t be too soon! Seriously, I hope the session is a success, it isn’t until the end of May but I like to be prepared.
ReplyDeleteYou should be okay with a terrarium, Sher makes them for the shop but it wouldn’t travel well!
The weeds will grow again, but hopefully not too much before I get back from my little trip.
I am pleased the plant is producing a new leaf, it must be reasonably happy.
Will do a word puzzle now to see something other than buttons!
