Visits and garden

This morning I went to see Bel, who was on good form and we had a chat and caught up on our news. After lunch I set off to walk to the front and then on to see Jean who lives near the Floral Hall. Took some photos of the sea while I was passing.

Had a lovely chat with Jean and home made cake as well! It was a very strong wind on the way there which made it cool but it was a lovely day.
I called in at the post office on the way home to get stocked up with stamps! Boy, they are expensive now, but have to be had as I write a lot of letters.
Before tea I decided to get a bit more of the digging where I took the pavers up. I worked for about an hour and must be about half way now!

I had a phone call today to say that the two bowls I ordered in Beverley are now in and ready to be collected. I may catch the bus in tomorrow and get them.

  1. Friday is visiting day. Not too bad a day for it though. Even the sea doesn’t look quite so cold today, for surfers anyway. Don’t think I’d be too tempted to dip my toe though. Still looks quite deserted. But that means you get it almost to yourself. It’s been a reasonably nice day here too. I’m sure we’ll suffer for it later.
I like the visits that come with cake and tea. Something to look forward to.
I used my last stamp the other day, so I need to stock up myself. Sounds like I may need to take out a loan! I’m lucky though as I don’t know as many people as you 😊
Fancy going out and digging after a reasonably easy day! Does look good when it’s turned over though. I suppose you’ll have to bed it all down before you can put the slabs back. Should keep the weeds down for a while.
Hope it stays fine tomorrow for your trip to Beverly.
    Enjoy Grantchester.

  2. The path isn’t going to weed itself, so I though an hour would progress it a bit!
Apart from that a very pleasant day.
I am looking forward to Grantchester as well.
