Photo overkill!

This morning we set out fairly early for Scarborough as Tina’s car was due for a service. A lovely day again but what made it an interesting journey was seeing what looked like smoke on the horizon but as we got closer it was a sea fret and we drove in and out of it as we went up and down hills. We have seen many sea frets but never looking at it from afar and driving through it then out again. Some photos of it later as it was still ‘hanging around’ later on the way home. We dropped the car at the garage and a nice young chap drove up to Debbie’s house in the town. I had a cuppa with Tina and Debbie and then left them to catch u on there news and set off for a walk for about an hour. They live near the top end of Peasholm glen and there is a path down to the glen directly opposite their house. A zigzag walk down with steps and tarmac path, the steps didn’t have a rain which I find a challenge these days. I walked down through glen, round the lake at the park and the island was open so went up there as well, then walked back just in time to join the ladies for lunch. A lot of photos now, may add the odd comment but mostly just nice views.

A lot of gulls in the glen today, probably because of lots of people with food for the ducks!

Then to the park to and the island. Quite a climb up to the garden on the island.

A selfie in front of the waterfall to prove I made it to the island!
We went to Daisy’s for lunch which was very nice and then called at a clock sh in town as Tina wanted a key for a musical box but the shop was closed! Then we went to the mere, we didn’t know that Debbie is nervous of the geese but Tina and I fed some, they weren’t that hungry today. The mallards heads glistened in the sun!

We spotted this amazing intact shell by the mere, not sure how it got there!
Now some fret pics and a Turner moon, except it is the sun!

Forgot to mention that when Debbie dropped us off at the garage we collected the car and did call into Sainsbury’s as we like their underwear and we don’t have a nearer store! Then we drove along the sea front and got the photos of the fret before driving home.
I have been starting to get things together for my trip on Friday as I have to go to Hull tomorrow for a hearing test!

  1. A long and busy day then, but I very pleasant one. I do think the glen and the park are great places. I think if I’d lived in Scarborough and moved out it would be something I’d really miss. Luckily you’re not too far away so do still get to see it occasionally. A nice day for it too. You have some really colourful pics of it all. Definitely brings back a few memories for me of walking through it all. Glad you made it to the island as I think it’s lovely up there. Bit of a trek though! I bet going in and out the fret was quite an experience too. A bit like flying through the clouds.
The mere isn’t a great place to go if you don’t like geese! I hope they didn’t chase her. I’m sure they were all happy to be fed. The shell is very large. I can only assume a gull must have carried it over there and dropped it. Can’t think of anything else that could have. Unless a fisherman has been using the innards as bait!
The fret is very unusual. But a nice experience to drive in and out of it. At least you got a few pics of it, and that sun does look very moon like ๐Ÿ˜Š
It’s nearly Friday. That has come around so quickly. It’ll be nice to see you, I’m looking forward to it.
Good luck with the hearing test……..pardon ๐Ÿฆป๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. It was a long day, and a longish walk by my standards. I do love it when I get a chance to visit Scarborough, I think it is me of my favourite places. But interesting with the fret and shell as well as the usual sights. Lovely for Tina to have a good catch up with one of her friends as well.
