About midday Darren drove me to Flemingate as my bowls were ready for collection. We had a bit of lunch and went into a couple of shops. Collected the bowls, really pleased with them.
This funky settee was in Baytree Interiors.
When we got back I went out into the garden for an hour or so before the trans Atlantic call and did some more weed remove all.
After the call I went out again, finished the digging, levelled off and replaced the pavers! Not feeling tired now!
I went into the church with Tina after tea to help her display the palm leaves for tomorrow and then she asked if I would like a trip to Mappleton. Darren came with us which was really nice. Some photos of sea, sunset and tow of those were on the drive home.
One more picture, Darren spotted this in Art and Soul and I have it as an early birthday present.
Well, that was a busy, but nice day for the most part. Apart from the gardening! Glad Darren took you to Beverly. So much easier than dragging stuff back on the bus. Plus you get to spend time with Darren. Hope you didn’t embarrass him too many times while you were out 😄
ReplyDeleteThe bowls do look really nice on those silver bases. Bet you’re keen to get one of them set up.
The settee is great. I’ve seen the fronts of minis used as cocktail cabinets, but not as a seat. I’d certainly have it in my lounge.
Can’t believe you got stuck into gardening when you got home. I know you wanted to get it done, but it could have waited. I have to say that it does look really nice now you’ve got it finished. Such a lot of work though.
What a great way to end the day. All of you going for a little trip out. Some brilliant pics too. Love the one of Darren and the Rev. Their faces totally show what they were thinking when you took it 😂
Hopefully you’ll be having a slower day tomorrow. Maybe a bit of embroidery if you’re allowed to do it before your birthday.
Don’t spoil Darren too much tomorrow.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY (for tomorrow) DARREN 🎂🎁🥳🎈
Turned out to be a pretty good day. Trips out and some gardening achieved, can’t be bad. When we arrived at Mappleton I thought we would have trouble finding a space in the very small car park and to our surprise we were the only car there, first one ever!
DeleteLove the bowls and the embroidery too.
