Morning visitor, Driffield and garden!

Feeding the birds this morning I saw this visitor, on the lawn, looking like a wet leaf at a glance, but thankfully I didn’t tread on it!
Tina needed to get the car charged so we had a brief visit to Driffield. The rapid charger was free so we went off to get breakfast and look in a couple of shops. I got some garden gloves and some courgette seeds at the Yorkshire Trading Company and then in a new shop that had lots of interesting stuff this unusual planter.
Before we went out I had taken the tools down to the other side of the bed I was working on so that I could get on with it when we got home. Quite a challenge and about half a dozen of the giant thistles had appeared. Not giant yet obviously but needing to be removed as soon as possible!
When we arrived home the post had been and the 8x8 photo tile I had ordered was waiting for me. I am very pleased with it!
I went out for about an hour and removed the bigger weeds and the thistles and made a start then went in for a break and a cuppa.
I went round to the parish hall to see if I was needed at the family group. They had an outdoor session planned today with another group coming in to run, so I said I would get back to the garden and return to help them pack away. I continued working, also cut some of the rhubarb which I took into the hall when I went back to help with the clearing up. Plenty of takers which was good. Then I came home and went straight out to finish what I had been doing. It will all need digging again but that shouldn’t be too bad.
Fairly weary and a bit achey now so have had a bath and will sit quietly not doing much!

  1. Yet another busy day. You’re determined to get that garden done before you head down here 😊 It does look good though. The rhubarb is ginormous! A few crumbles in that lot. It was good they didn’t need your help today at the group.
I like the little planter you bought. Any plans for what’s going in it?
The picture with Diversity turned out really well. Bet you’re really chuffed with that. They all look like giants compared to you 😄
Not surprised you’re achey, relax and enjoy tonight’s program.

  2. May not have a lot more chance to attack the garden before I head to Peterborough. But good to get that bed finished, well first turn over anyway.
The planter has quite a narrow opening, so it would need to be a narrow flower pot. I don’t like planting straight into a ceramic container as it is hard to judge the water content,
