This morning Paul did arrive, I wondered if he would cancel as it has threatened to rain on and off all day and it is bitterly cold. He said he wa glad to get out of the house for a bit as he has been looking after his wife who had surgery earlier in the week. So now the bird table is assembled and in place, he said it it really well made but was quite tricky to assemble.
Just pottered this morning until Tina was ready for us to nip out for lunch. The traffic in the town at the moment is chaotic so we had been going to Hornsea garden centre but in the end turned in the opposite direction to Freeport!
I had put some food on the bird table when it was assembled so thought I would wrap up and sit in the summer house for a while and see what activity there was in the garden. Lots of squirrel activity today and quite a few birds. A stream of pics, will make an odd comment if I think it is needed.
The starling soon attracted its mates, the next photo is blurred but you get the gist! So table being used on the first day!
A close up squirrel and a shot of the garden.
I was delighted to see a blackbird on the table!
Then some different visitors on a suet block.
One more shot in the garden,
Apart from changing the bedding I haven’t done much else today. Visiting Bel in the morning tomorrow and Jean in the afternoon.
Finally, it’s built! Looks good, and very sturdy. Hopefully it’ll last a few years. At least you’ve had a less active day today. The time in the summerhouse was a very good idea and you have some great pics, particularly the squirrels. They’re so photogenic 😊 Bet you didn’t take those closeups with your phone.
ReplyDeleteNice to get out for a bit of lunch with the Rev, even though you didn’t end up where you expected. All in all a good day and no gardening involved 😄 Tomorrow sounds like a good day too.
All the garden photos were with the camera today, don’t often use it now, but the birds and squirrels would be very tiny if I took pics from the summerhouse with it!
ReplyDeleteIt was good to see a bit of variety out there, the squirrels were very frisky today and I think there were four or five scampering about.
