Paul arrived to do the finishing touches to the panels, it took a while but he has done a great job. I decided to go and do some more hoeing at the area near the wall in the back garden. Not about three feet high like it used to be when we first arrived, but getting very weedy. Trouble is that now it has bulbs and shrubs clearing is more tricky. Some of the daffy didn’t survive, but they will be back next year.. looking a bit tidier now.
I went over to Countdown to get some glue, Darren had suggested Araldite but they didn’t have any. Terry in the shop looked at the various glues with me and we found one for ceramics which is water resistant so got some of that. Did buy some plants a well.
Darren and I had talked about going out maybe for e a coffee somewhere and Tina was in and the three of us went to Freeport, had a drink and a wander round The Works. Then we drove up to Mappleton as Freeport is in the same direction. We managed to get a parking place although there were quite a few cars there today.
I see no ships!
We got fish and chips on the way back and they were very tasty.
I mended the water feature after tea and hope that the glue will do the trick.
I have had three quite busy days now, the knee hasn’t been great but I am still managing to do what I want to do so mustn’t complain.
The final episode of Grantchester for this series tonight.
Oh dear. Glad it’s not just me who’s clumsy at times. Hopefully the glue will hold it together ok. These things happen, can’t be helped I suppose. Pity Pandora wasn’t keeping an eye on you when you moved the fountain 😊
ReplyDeleteThe garden is looking nice in the pics. The “after” shot from the wall towards the summerhouse shows it off nicely. Shame it involves so much hard work!
Glad you got out as a family for a ride round and fish and chips. Specially on such a nice day. I like the pic of the Rev. Ships are like buses, none now but before you know it three will come sailing by 😄
You’re coping well with the knee. I know you hate to take it too easy for too long, and I’m sure it’s best to keep it moving, you’ll just have to try not to overdo it. Pretend your retired!
I’m looking forward to Grantchester this evening.
A good day and getting on with the garden, trying to get ahead before the weeds get any bigger!
DeleteIt was a lovely day but not as warm a some parts of the country as the wind was still quite cool.
Fingers crossed the water feature is well and truly stuck.
