I forgot to take pictures for the first part of today. So focussed on getting on with the job!
So, by the time I remembered to take a photo we had worked on the beard and the hands and marked the details on the book and scraped off the paint where we were going to add colour!
Then a bit more work on the hands and a wash on the hair followed but some extra detail to give a mor 3d effect.
Then putting the detail on the book and some detail on the buildings.
Had to mark out careful and then started painting the cross on the halo. It needs another coat, not easy o paint on the gold leaf as it doesn’t take well. There is the halo to finish and the under garments,m not sure if there is anything else. It will be a few weeks before I can attend one of his weekly sessions and get it finished. I am pleased with the result so far.
Off to see Sarah and David in a bit.
Glad to hear the bird feeder and table are living up to expectations. Good job really after the wait to get it together 😊
ReplyDeleteI think the icon course has been a really worthwhile thing to do. You’ve have a lot of enjoyment from doing it, and in my opinion I think your end product is fantastic! I know you still have a few bits to finish off, but it won’t be long before it’s done totally. You should be very proud of your efforts doing it. There’s an awful lot of detail in there and I know you’ve had to go through umpteen different processes to get it to where it is now. The only thing I would suggest is that you find a very safe place to display it, well away for cat attention and clumsy humans! It would be such a shame for it to get damaged.
It has been a really good course and I have enjoyed it, even when I have had to scrape back and do it better! It is surprisingly tiring to concentrate on something quite complex all day.
