Last night I was checking my bank balance and transactions and noticed a withdrawal for £49 and could not for the life of me think I had bought at that price. Sometimes in the past I have though I had an entry I didn't remember but usually the penny drops after a bit. This time it didn't, so checked out the company name on the statement and googled it to see if it prompted a memory. It was a sight about visas which I hadn't heard of and then thought it might be the bank as I had phoned a week ago to have a payment blocked. Tina helped me try and sort it out but we decided it was probably some sort of scam. So this morning set off early to the bank, hoping they would sort it for me. They don't deal with transactions so said I had to talk to the fraud department via the phone. At this point I wished I had dragged Tina along with me! Anyway, the man on the phone was very helpful, but they have cancelled my debit card as a fraudulent withdrawal was made, but the good news is the money will be credited back into my account. When I got home and had a cup of tea the three of us went out into the garden. The buddleia bushes were well out of control and I cannot reach the higher levels. Tina was in charge of the pruning, which was pretty brutal, Darren and I had the job of cutting it down so that we could get it into the garden waste bin!
That wasn't all of it,there was more up where she was still pruning! Here is Darren getting stuck in!
The pruner having a rest and then cutting up more pruned branches further up the garden!

The primulas that I bought last year as past their best plants have grown to be quite stunning this year with many flower heads!
Darren and Tina dropped me off at the craft shop this afternoon for out get together, nice chat and a cuppa. I had taken my sketch book and a pen and did a couple of slightly more technical drawings. I used to love sketching machines and quite like perspective.
I went over to the ceramic studio and the spider I painted and the little bee were out of the kiln. The bee is really cute, I have let them keep him in the shop for now as a sample.

The spider turned out well too and he/she has come home with me!
I did get the hand patchwork ironed and sewn onto a piece of fabric last night, will probably make it into another wall hanging.

  1. There are too many banking scams around these day, so it's a good job you actually keep and eye on your account. Great news that the bank sorted it out so quickly, even though it did give you a bit of stress. Chopping up bushes is a good way to de-stress, so it all worked out in the end :-) You were definitely a busy threesome this morning, and got a lot done.
The bee is great, and the spider has turned out really well. I bet you're really chuffed with it, and so you should be. Great drawings too. You've had a busy and productive day. Bet you're knackered now :-)

  2. Yes, after a not so good start it turned out to be a pretty good day and the weather was lovely again too. Am feeling a bit tired now so hopefully will sleep well tonight!
