A pretty moody sky last night.
Then it turned pink!
This morning Darren and Tina were getting ready to make their way to Cardiff for their weekend away. They asked if I would like to have breakfast with them so we all went to Sainsbury's. After that they headed straight off on their journey and I walked through town as I wanted to go to Boyes. This lovely flower bed was at the end of Victoria Road which I passed on my way.
I wanted to get some wide bias binding at Boyes, took a piece of the background material with me as there is a very limited range of colours in the wider binding. I was going to make the patchwork into a hanging, but now think it should be a table centre. Here it is but I still have get it ironed and finish off the hand sewing.
My bonsai trees are doing well after their root prune a few weeks back. This is my oldest one which I started off probably 14 years ago.
This is the leafiest one!
Very dramatic sky a bit earlier this evening.

  1. Some great pics tonight. Hard to believe the different colour skies were in the same evening. So different. The cloudy one from tonight is very dramatic too. I really like the pic of the flower bed. The background is almost black and white, with the full on colour of the flowers at the front. Great! Your bonsai look good too. They done well over the years, and I have to say you have more courage than me for lopping big lumps off the tops and roots!
A nice breakfast is always a good start to a long trip, although in my case it usually ends with one. I hope they have a good weekend. I also hope the cat behaves for you while you're cat sitting :-)

  2. Thanks Mike. The variety in the skies is brilliant. Have always like them but just seem to have more differences to see up here!
