I wandered off to town reasonably early, wanted to check when Rex's Emporium was open, a little antique and curio shop off the beaten track. It is rarely open, and a sign in the window said it was open today and tomorrow but no actual hours! I thought it was a short day, maybe 11 am to 4 pm. I made my way to the ceramic studio and helped Donna out there for a couple of hours. She had people come in to make a clay box and others to do clay hand prints, plus some painters booked it. I worked with the painters so she could concentrate on the clay work. I went back via the emporium as I had been sent a picture of a black widow spider inside a small perfume bottle a couple of months ago. It is still there, and very beautiful, but also way above the price I had in my head! I got some shopping for dinner this evening and came home and had a restful afternoon. All yesterday afternoon and well into the evening I worked on the quilted wall hanging. I got it finished and am pleased with the result for a first attempt at original wall art!
Haven't been at all camera happy today, although I did take it out, but have taken a picture of the flowers that came in a box over a week ago. They are still just beautiful.
Darren and I will probably go to the boot sale tomorrow, will be interesting to see if it is actually open this week.
A spider in a bottle is interesting. I think you should treat yourself, it sounds like it was made for you :-) I think the wall hanging is great. Very effective use of the background colours and patterns, and you did it so quickly too! You're getting too good at this quilting lark now!
ReplyDeleteWonder if anyone will be selling a spider in a bottle at the car boot tomorrow? Now that would spooky!
That would be spooky!! I am thinking about the stool now, may try triangles, we will see!
