It is Goth weekend in Whitby and it was suggested that I go along. Luckily Colonel was on best behaviour last night so I was up in good time and set off in time to catch the 9.20 am bus. I felt a bit silly asking if I could take photos at first, but soon got over that, this was the first couple.
I walked along the sea wall away from the bridge and old town, this was the church on the cliff opposite.
Another group of revellers.
I walked on a bit, have never walked this way in Whitby before.
Then I back tracked and went over the bridge to the old town.
En garde!!
Some lovely ladies.

I made my way up to the steps that lead to the abbey but did not go up them!
Another attractively dressed couple.
And a very tall lady?
Pirate Goths?

What's that on your shoulder?!
Morris dancers.
Another lovely lady.
Then, to bring it all back down to earth a picture from the bus on the way home through very dirty windows!!
When I got home these lovely flowers were waiting for me (in the black bin!) from my friend Michelle.
Colonel is making up for being good last night by being very demanding now!

  1. What great morning out, with some great pictures. Looks like they all go to a lot of trouble with their costumes, must be really good fun to do. I think the first couple with the pushchair are my favourites, they look really good together. Gothic Morris dancers is a new one on me too. Is it an anual event, as I'd love to see it?
Even the pic from the bus window makes it look a nice day. Great to come home to flowers too, although maybe not a cat :-) Sorry Colonel!

  2. There are two Goth weekends every year, I imagine the second one is in the autumn. It was difficult to keep the number of pics down and I was only there for a short tine! It was raining before I went out but the weather has been kind since.
