My room is great, the wall you can’t see is floor to ceiling book cases so I think it is a sitting room cum library when they haven’t got a guest.
Tate Modern is a reasonably short walk away so Judi walked there with me. She came in for a while but really doesn’t care for the exhibits so she went home and left me to explore. Lots of weird and wonderful stuff, well not so wonderful on most cases but I took quite a few photos so you can see for yourself. Watch out for the giant spider! I tried to take a selfie with it in which wasn’t a success but will post in anyway.
The next one was the view from the top floor.
I hadn’t appreciated how big those to exhibits were.
I walked up to see the view and the Millennium Bridge before ai made my way back to the house.
This painting wa on a building as I was walking back.
Had a nice meal with the nuns and will have a quiet evening and a reasonably early night.
I am going to the Tate Gallery tomorrow. Judi will get me onto the right bus as she has things she needs to do. But on Wednesday we will go out together to Kew Gardens.
It really is a good job you cope well in situations like that. I would have just given up 🙂 You kept your cool though and sorted out the problem. Hopefully coming back will be easier. But we’ll forget about that for now. I bet you were pleased to see Judi’s face when the door opened. A nice end to your journey.
ReplyDeleteThe room looks very comfortable. I’d be more than happy to stay there. I’ve been in hotels that weren’t anywhere near so good.
I have to say I’m with Judi on the Tate Modern. The stuff in there isn’t my cup of tea. Not really art at all. Well not proper art. I mean, how is a telephone with a plastic lobster balanced on top art? 😂 I do have to say the giant spider is quite impressive. You should have asked someone to take a pic of you with it. It’s a bit big to fit it into a selfie.
The painting on the wall on the way back is more like proper art. That actually deserves to be on show. Sorry, I do get on my high horse 😂
I think a quiet evening tonight is a good idea after the start you had to the day. You’ll be ready then to go to a proper gallery 🙂 Kew will be nice on Wednesday too.
The break will do you good. Might recharge your batteries.
Most of the stuff isn’t my cup of tea either. There wa a dog basket with a blanket in it fenced off in one corner, a lady said to us ‘do you get it?’ We said no nd she went of chuckling away and pointing out other exhibits. But glad I went if only for the spider and seeing the Andy Warhol and the Matisse in real life wA interesting because I had no perception of their size. I really liked the painting on the wall on the way back.
ReplyDeleteThe sisters observe silence after evening prayers so I will have some nice restful evenings.
