After that I cleaned around my bathroom window, which doesn’t shut properly and had plenty of cobwebs and general muck around it. I needed the steps which is a poor excuse for letting it get so bad!
After lunch I took fabric scissors, pins etc downstairs to start cutting out the trousers. I started by cutting the pattern sheets, then realised they were double sided! The instructions said that you should trace them onto pattern paper, should have read that before I started! Buying large sheets of pattern paper should probably be expensive so have ordered a different pattern instead!
The outsides of the kitchen window and the bay in the downstairs sitting room were looking very grubby, not the windows themselves but the surrounds. As they are next to be made into working windows I spent some time cleaning want I could reach.
I had a wander round the garden so some more pics, never short of things to photograph in the garden.
Lovely double poppies have just opened by the greenhouse.
The calendulas are in full bloom.
The daisies tract the thunder bugs!
This odd plant that I thought was a sort of corn isn’t opening, the other stems are dying off.
The hollyhocks are inflower.
And the tiny alliums are turning red now.
Will be going out to water the gardens soon so will finish with the news that the amaryllis that was green despite being left for moths has started to get larger now that is has had a drink. I wonder if it will get a flower again.
Definitely showing off now with pics of the nets blowing like that. Not something you’ve seen much of up to now.
ReplyDeleteYou are keen in weather like this to be cleaning window frames. You should be in the summerhouse with ice cream and a Pimms 😊
Any particular reason you are making trousers, or is it just something you fancied doing?
I always like seeing the pics of the flowers in your garden. So colourful. The plant that you said you thought was a corn looks like an onion gone to seed to me. But I don’t know much about plants 😂
Blimey, the amaryllis has come on well all things considered. I think it’ll get a flower 🙂
I got the pattern at the boot sale a few weeks ago and thought if I could find some cheap material it would be less expensive than buying summer trousers.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the amaryllis will flower, will give reports on it if it looks likely.
Off to water the plants, need to keep them alive so I have things to photograph.
