Sunny Sunday

A lot of sun and very hot today, sadly the rain has missed us again and it is due to get hotter. We went to the boot sale as usual, not a lot to inspire us today but I got a couple of glass items to take to Sher and a small battery spider that scurries across the floor! Pandora looked at it but soon got bored!
I hadn’t noticed a small chip on the glass but I managed to make it smooth with sand paper! Another interesting vehicle in the car park.
I bought a battery hedge trimmer so did go onto the garden for a while to try it. It was okay but jammed on the thicker branches. May have to upgrade!
I want the garden done, but just didn’t feel inclined today, and the heat meant it wouldn’t have been sensible to be put there for long, that’s my excuse!
I bought three postcards at Kew, paintings by Marianne North, there wasn’t a great selection.
I did some watering in the front garden using watering cans, then I hosed the back garden as the hose pipe ban hasn’t come in yet.
The sea holly in the garden is going blue now.
May get in the garden for a bit tomorrow if I can muster the enthusiasm.

  1. The weather has been much the same here. It’s a bit too much really. Bring on the rain!
I like your bargains, particularly the right hand glass. That’s really nice. I suppose the spider really had to come home with you? 😊
That’s a nice trike. Perfect for driving about on this weather. Bet it stays in the garage on bad days. It’s a Honda Goldwing. I know someone who had the normal two wheel version. That was a monster too.
Shame the hedge trimmer want as powerful as you’d hoped, but I’m sure you’ll find jobs to use it on. I don’t blame you for not spending long out there today. Pulling a few weeds isn’t worth getting heatstroke for.
I think Marianne North is my new favourite artist. I love seeing her paintings. So interesting and so detailed. The colours and the style are also good. I like everything about them 🙂
I hope you don’t get a full on hosepipe ban up there. Watering would be a total nightmare. You’d have to drag the other two out to help!
I’m pretty sure you’ll muster the enthusiasm for a bit of time in the garden tomorrow, but to be honest I hope you don’t…….in a nice way 😊

  2. I thought the glass was lovely too and ideal for a succulent or something. They were 10p each!
Yes, I am sure the hedge trimmer will be useful, plenty of different jobs in a garden of this size.
I have to be around for deliveries tomorrow so will be pottering in the front garden if I do go out there.
I forgot to mention that I spent a bit of time on the jigsaw today. Photo tomorrow.
I agree with you about Marianne North, an amazing lady and artist. I am hoping the book I have sent for will have some more examples of her work.
