I went into the garden and did some strimming and large weed pulling, stopped when I needed to charge the strimmer batteries. I took some photos out there. The sea hollies may be turning blue by the time I get back from London. The second picture shows there are a lot of heads this year. Then there is a pansy and the last one is the plant that has the large, stinky flowers. The bud is very big now so I am hoping it waits a bit to open.
I shortened some trousers this afternoon and then went out and did some more strimming and watered the back garden and bonsai trees.
Sitting with my furry friend now so will clear away the sewing debris in a bit.
That was a flying visit to Hull then. Hope you had time to get a drink somewhere.
ReplyDeleteYou were lucky, if that’s the right word, to have the weather for gardening. It’s been quite wet here today. I was stood by my kitchen window thinking if it wasn’t so damp I’d get out there and do a bit of digging…….then I woke up in a sweat and realised it was a nightmare 😂 I know you’d like to get it in a reasonable shape before you go away, as with a few days without care it can go to rack and ruin!
I do like the sea hollies, specially when they’ve turned blue. They’re so pretty. The pansy looks like an old man with a moustache 😊 When you say the plant in the last pic has stinky flowers, do you mean a disgusting stinky smell? If that’s the case I’d dig it up 😊
Quite a busy day for you, but a lot done as usual. I suppose you’ll be doing more in the garden tomorrow weather permitting? Enjoy your evening.
I love the sea hollies, but may have to thin them out a bit and have some in another part of the garden. Yes, it is a striking flower but stinks, but I can look at it from a distance!
ReplyDeleteHopefully the weeds won’t get too out of control in four days, but water and sun encourages them as much as the flowers.
I did have a drink in Hull, there was time 😊
