Tina was on the other side of the road and called out that we needed a box. I knew I had a suitable one upstairs so got it and made some holes in readiness. Tina he phoned the lady in Walkinton who takes in animals and she was expecting us. The bird was young und jackdaw that had a damaged leg and maybe wing as well, but it was quite lively, very pretty with its blue eyes. The village is near Beverley so a fair way to go. I know the lady will do what she can for it andnd lredy cooked some scrambled egg for it to eat! When we got home it was time to lunch.
Then I went back to have a chat with Sher. I had taken a photo of the ‘miracle stick’ four months or more to get this far!
We had a good natter and she said she is taking another lady to see a Simon nd Garfunkel tribute act at the Floral Hall and asked if I would like to join them, and ii would like to so she is getting tickets.
When I got home I was pondering going in the garden and Darren suggested I start the jigsaw instead. I didn’t need much encouraging! Have all the edge pieces except one.
After a while I did go into the garden for about an hour and removed lots of brambles and nettles, my arms have the scratches and sting rashes to prove it!
I took some photos in the walled garden.
Where I cleared the nettles there was a clematis that has survived, I have watered it and hope to be able to take a photo in a couple of weeks looking much happier.
One other photo in the front garden.
After dinner I said I was going to water both the gardens when Tina told me a drought has been announced! So I watered the bonsais and am very pleased I went to water the plant that is allegedly awful smelling, it is called dracunculus vulgaris, it’s stunning flower had opened
Feeling quite weary, but haven’t really done a lot, just feeling my age!
Quite an eventful day!
ReplyDeleteAt least you got to see the sea, through a car window, but it still counts. Plus you got to see Sher….eventually 😊
The birds are so lucky to have their accidents near to you and Tina. Hopefully it’ll survive with some TLC from the lady. I’m a bit gobsmacked that birds eat scrambled eggs. It doesn’t seem right!
The Simon and Garfunkel tribute will hopefully be good. You’ll enjoy that. Not too much bopping though, it won’t do your knees any good 😊
You should have stayed with the jigsaw and left the garden until another day, but I know you really want to get on tidying it. Don’t overdo it though. The flower pics are lovely. You do have some beautiful flowers in your garden.
Join the club. I feel my age, and more every day, and I don’t do anywhere near as much as you!
Quite a strange day, but as you say, I got to see Sher in the end. We have taken a bird to the lady before, it was a seagull last time!
ReplyDeleteI think the jigsaw will be fun, probably not quick, but it is a great image.
Maybe some gardening tomorrow, then again….
