Fame and workshop

I went to the shop early as usual and did my daily puzzles own line. The local paper came and there was an article about the As Time Goes By dementia cafe. It featured the day I went along when the members were colouring the sheets I had designed.
I walked up to Freeport and the pottery, I helped unpack some new stock before Jess and Oscar arrived for the workshop. Oscar decided to make a pen pot and Jess a Christmas wreath. When Oscar had cut and tidied the base and side of the pot I was helping him join them together and the side wasn’t long enough. As I hadn’t actually ever made one the stress levels were rising! So I got more clay out, measured it before we started joining them and it must have stretched and was now too long! I cut it down and it was assembled, but everything firmly crossed it would survive. He the made some embellishments. Jess wanted to do her own thing so I advised her as she worked. I should now say they were absolutely lovely and enjoyed their session. We giggled a lot and they were amused by my stress. Jess said she would be asking for me to be on duty when they come to paint, or make new ones if their items don’t survive the bisque firing! Even asked me to have a photo taken with them. It was Oscars eleventh birthday!
I helped clear the table and then walked home as well and called in at Tesco on the way home.
When I got home I dropped off my bag and went out to do a sketch, but just in the front garden.
Didn’t do a lot then, just got ready to settle down for the Strictly final which was great. And I have been giggling listening to Michael McIntyre while writing this.

  1. Definitely fame. What’s the betting you might get asked to do similar things for others now. Local celebrity 🙂
Even more fame at the pottery too. You’re now Jess and Oscars go to adviser in pottery matters. You’ll be rushed off your feet more than you already are! I’m really pleased it all went well in the end. It’ll be much easier the next time you get to do a workshop. You had really nice people to work with for your first outing. It’s just something you celebrities have to get used to 😊😊

  2. I did enjoy It in the end, I heard her telling Rob she thought I had the patience of a saint! Didn’t feel like that, but they really enjoyed it which was a win.
