Visits and sea

Visiting day, Bel was in good spirits and told me is her birthday tomorrow, 91 yers young! She had received some chocolates yesterday and a lovely bouquet arrived today while I was there. She mentioned things she likes from the local baker so I will go and buy some tomorrow and drop them round with a card. Had a drink in the summer house with Tina when I got home, we left the cats indoors so sat enjoying the varied wildlife in the garden.
After lunch I set off for Jeans via the sea as usual. Taking some flower pics in the memorial on the way through.
The sun was out but the wind was very cold.
I sat for a while trying to catch the seagulls drifting in the wind. Had a lot of blank sky photos!
Jean still had Crackers staying who sat on me for a while and then settled with Jean.
She had said she wanted to have some laughs when I visited so I took some of my scrap books from trips, most have funny episodes to recall! Terry brought me home as usual. After Jane and Simon did some work in the garden for us Tina and I went and had small fish and chips by the sea. We ate them a Morrow Avenue, so a quick photo there, it was much chillier than it looks!
The she drove to Mappleton, we weren’t out of the car long! One of the ever decreasing coast line and ending with a dramatic one for today.

  1. Blimey, 91. I’ll be a real grouchy old sod if I ever reach that age! Yes, I know I’m grouchy now, I mean grouchier 😊 I bet she be really pleased when you turn up with her favourite baked goods. An unusual but really nice pressie.
The weather looks nice in your pics, but I can imagine it was a bit chilly by the sea. It’s actually been a quite nice afternoon here.
You do quite well getting birds flying in your pics without setting out to do it deliberately. Nice blue skies for the background.
Crackers is so cute 😊 I remember some of the funny episodes from your trips, so I know they will have made her smile. Did you tell her about the old woman’s house you painted in Ghana? 😂
It’s good you and the Rev got out for a little while. She must be feeling a bit better if she feels like driving now. That’s good. I had fish and chips for lunch today. But I bet yours tasted better by the sea, even if it was chilly.
The final pic really is a dramatic one. I like that.

  2. A pleasant day and no grafting. Will probably make up for it tomorrow.
I tried putting some salt on a few weeds this evening so will see how that goes.
Bel does very well, and last week took herself along to a craft group at the museum to get out and meet people.
Crackers is cute, he will be staying with them for a while yet.
