Yesterday evening Colonel decided he liked the new cushion too.
Well, to be truthful, that is one of his favourite spots on the settee. I did a bit of ironing this morning and then walked up to the studio as the ankle didn't feel too bad. A friend sent me a little hand held, battery operated, engraving tool, so I took it to the studio to have a play on the bisque. I practised on a piece of a broken plate before working on something I wanted to paint and keep. I decided on a butter dish and drew, then engraved, buttercups on the cover and leaves on the base.
Then I painted it, quite simply, and now we wait to see the effect!
I walked into town and to the station, I had train tickets to collect and I wanted some bus timetables. The ankle was getting sore by then so caught the bus home. A little sit down, with Colonel of course.
Did a bit of tidying in the front garden this afternoon and put chicken manure down to try and improve the soil. I think these unusual tulips and called 'rose tulips' and I can see why.
The alliums are well on the way now, so beautiful.
I wouldn't let any cat anywhere near that cushion, you're far more tolerant than me :-) I even turfed Silver off my chair when I was with M&R yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the finished result on the butter dish. And it's a useful object, not just an ornament.
Those tulips are very unusual, I don't remember seeing any like that before, but you know what my memory is like!
Oh dear, you will be in Rose's bad books, sending Silver packing! Hopefully I will collect the butter dish on Thursday afternoon.
