A rather understated, but different, sunset last night.
This morning I started using some of the great fabrics I got for landscapes, not actually a landscape, but start relatively easy and build up to it. Will put a picture so far at the end of the post. I walked into town at lunch time and went for my hair appointment at the new hairdressers. They were ages behind time and one of the people leaving didn't have great hair, so I wondered how it would be.They chatted with me and suggested they use a cap and not foils. If you haven't had or seen the cap method, they put a rubber cap over your head with holes in and with a sort of crochet hook pull hairs through to colour. Here I am 'capped'!!
The result is actually pretty good and they were happy not to blow dry my hair which is unusual. Darren sent me a picture on the phone earlier of the poppy in the front garden, this is my one and it was pretty windy for a change!!
I have been carrying  on with the quilting this afternoon and so far so good. The metallic thread kept breaking and the lady in the sewing shop suggested I have the thread upright rather than horizontal as it usually is on my machine. That worked, I did a whole chunk without it snapping.
Have quite a lot of ends to sort out and need to decide if I want to add some embellishments to the butterflies.

  1. A very bland looking sunset for Scarborough! Good to see you do get some normal ones occasionally!
As I scrolled down to the picture of you with the cap on, I immediately thought "Albert Einstein", sorry :-) Worth it if the end result is good though.
Love the new quilt. Think I'd be tempted to add some embellishments, but what do I know? :-)

  2. Think I may do a bit of embroidery on it, have a bit of tidying of ends to do as well, but maybe not tonight. Have a cat on my lap for a change!
